We had smartthings for many years for home automation that worked pretty well versatile. Ione update and it stopped working very well at all. So finally, we switched to Homekit a bit of pain replacing the locks and sensors for the doors windows. It has worked fairly well, but you could not have the doors locked and unlocked as you left like I did with a smartthing. OK on your watch to get it to work that doesn't work when you're riding a bicycle or your watch is covered. I found a workaround does cost a bit of money though basically buy a outlet and use that to run the automation. So when we arrive home, it causes a plug to turn on. That's one automation automation plug on it runs. We are home automation that unlocks the doors turned on another automation door unlocked runs the automation to turn the plug off and there you go doors unlocked when you get home. Can you use another plug and reverse that for when you leave the last person leaves that runs a goodbye and door lock turn the plug off. Some plug can be programmed. Automatically turned off after a certain amount of time.
