What are you doing today?

I had shingles 3 times! Between the first and second I got the old vaccine that didn’t work
I know the pain, sorry for you. I just read it now and I hope you feel better
I got shingrix after the 3rd time, and so far seems working but because the 3rd time I was travelling no one thought they were shingles…anyway some nerves some days are triggered but it could have been worse.
I would follow the advice of your doctor to get the vaccine, no pain with it
P.s. shingles can get you at any age: a doctor friend of mine had her daughter who got it at two years old!
She had an early Chickenpox then shingles!
i’ll definitely get shingrix in 6 months - i set an alarm to remind me. The shingles seems to be gone - no more pain. Of course I caught a cold just when I got over the shingles, so it’s like “virus party in Cliff” this month.

Glad you got over it, at least being pain free helps to see life more optimistically
We are living in troubled times with viruses
A week ago my husband has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, and he needs to take corticosteroids for few months . This makes his immune system very weak
At least his legs , arms pain is almost gone but we are back to use masks and stay put and the difficult part are the kids going to school masked, air purifiers at home, like back at the beginning of Covid. Depressing a little bit, but there is always something worse

Covid is the cause, autoimmune diseases are on the rise since 2020 . We both had mild covid at the end of June, not the kids.
I got long covid…yeah 🤪 headaches and migraines for 4 months but now I ’m improving and since 3 nights I can sleep.🤞
We’ve been told to avoid MRNA vaccines, and go with Novavax in case .
Good luck to all of us! And to all of you for the other big orange virus 🦠 🤞🤞🤞

I was flying my drone in downtown SF and got it stuck at the top of a hotel, took me around 2 hours actually find where it was and learned it was wedged on an outer spire sticking out from the top of the building 22 stories up.

I approached the staff and let them know of my predicament and they went above and beyond to help me get it, the building engineer had to essentially access the outside through a boarded up hole in the wall, then rigged up a pole with a looped rope at the end and it took him around an hour of crawling in and out to retrieve it.

I couldn't believe the effort these guys went to in order to recover this for me, they could've told me to pound sand and I would've been out a $4800 drone. I've spoken to the manager and offerened to film a full reel/video for the hotel, featuring both drone video and interior shots, editing, the whole thing, free of charge. I'll share it to out to my 84K followers on IG and then give them the finished product with no strings. They're pretty excited about it. Also getting a gift card for that engineer.

That’s a beautiful story. People out here are generally incredibly nice.

Does it not have obstacle avoidance or did you have it turned off?
Yes and it's frustrating that it didn't work being one of their top tier drones, but I think it would have had it been a solid surface. This was more like getting stuck on the edge of a rod iron balcony handle type of thing and it was at night and dark up there, so it's hard to fully blame them.

Going to be filming for an ad for a flying car in its early stages in a couple of weeks, had our first meeting about it today. It will be in the air all of 20 seconds and I'll only have one shot to get it right, I'll be filming with the drone and both of my Sony cameras in stationary positions.

Will be an interesting challenge to say the least as I always shoot my subjects over and over from multiple angles until I get it just right. Will try to plan as best as I can.

That is so exciting!!

Just had an earthquake, got the warning on the iPhone before it hit too. Still a bit freaked out but it wasn't too big, made us woozy from the slow rocking though.

didn’t feel it in palo alto, but the tsunami warnings blowing up everyone’s phones and watches started the crap out of me

Yeah those alerts were startging.

7.0. No wonder you felt it.
Yeah our dog was hip to it as well. Still not quite over the nausea.

Here's some video I got of it.

Just wanted to follow up that the footage I got from this is probably the most awesome thing I've ever shot, I mean it looks unreal to see a car flying as you can imagine, sadly there were people in the shot and it cannot be used. The client did warn about trying to avoid them but the set was too open and people were everywhere. So now I can't share and it'll never see the light of day.

It's been a while since the last Josh update. His new lungs are doing well so far. Unfortunately, he's still Josh and the new lungs come with no extra brain power. So far he's had pneumonia, a cold and now he has Covid. And yet he'll argue with you about how masks don't really do anything and won't wear a mask. Remember, he's on drugs to suppress his immune system.

To understand Josh, you need to understand that years ago he wrecked his mom's car because he was looking at his phone. Two weeks later he totaled the same car, at the same intersection, looking at the same phone. He quite frequently gets hard lessons, but he seems to be staring at the squirrels out the window or something and misses those hard lessons.

Today was supposed to be his final doctor visit. Then I think he might have been free to return home to Oregon. Now, thanks the to the Covid, he has to quarantine for 21 days before his can go back for that final appointment. He's super pissed about that of course. He really is his own worst enemy. 🤷‍♂️

Since they cannot use your footage, are you released from the NDA? I know that is probably a pointless question, but one can hope if you could give details on how it was flying.

It was all pretty informal so no NDA or anything for this client, but he did ask that I not share it so I won't. He doesn't want to get into trouble with the FAA so I get it, we really just should've had a closed shoot and cleared everyone from the area.

On the other hand if I were a wizard with video editing I could remove people from the shots but with the motion in the shot it's just not possible with my limited skill set, videos are very different than photoshop when it comes to that sort of thing.

Okay, I'll just have to use my imagination and think it was using 🦄 dust and 🧲.
