What are you doing today?

Oh ran across this pic, it’s a good exayof what are we doing :)

Hitting up record stores, vinyl shows, every year there’s a big vinyl event at The Amp, that coincides with the Sing Out Loud festival- we attended both (will post about the show later).

Anyway the daughter and I have been getting into collecting (again), she had a nice score from the event:

My limited edition Smoke and Stack Sinners vinyl came in today, preordered like 3-4 months ago :)

Celebrated my 59th by researching my Mom's side of the family. I spent the better part of the day in the Historical Archives of Dedham, MA. It is crazy to think that I came from the Midwest, my mom's side of the family is all from Ann Arbor, Michigan, which spans 4 generations back, and I was shocked to find that it all started one town over from where I am currently living. Captain Daniel Fisher b. 1620 in Syleham, England, emigrated to Dedham MA in 1640, d. 1683.

Another week of filming in Hollywood and I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the lack of celebrity sightings down here, just a bunch of regular people. :cautious:

Last weekend through the Monday holioday we were down at Universal, for HHN, but also did something new.

We’re not really water park people but we attended this event called Volcano Bay Nights and it was insanely fun!

We got a tower 7 room at Cabana Bay, which is like 100 feet from Volcano Bay :D

Had the appropriate beverages with us (but also raided the Swizzle Lounge which is terrific).

This event is kept to under 20% capacity and it’s a whole different vibe at night.

There’s like 20 rides too. We only did a few, hahaha JFC, The Fearless River which is a free floating lazy river type thing but amped up to 11 (no tubes, but you have to wear a life vest for good reason).

And then we did make it to our 2nd HHN night, had a blast! Again! Wasn't too crowded, but we bailed before it got too packed (which tends to happen way past our bedtime), did 5 houses, will be back the end of the month.

Hahaha sometime you catch a cast member walk in. We got a line of Arts 🤣 Big Arts, Santa arts, Headless Arts!

The entrance procession of Masquerade: Dance of Death, really incredible costume design!

Daughter has ACTs on Sat (tomorrow), but weirdly not here, down in Palm Coast, about an hour away, so f*** it, we scored a nice room at a hotel like a 5 minute walk from the school / testing location. So zero stress getting down there early.

She's taken her SATs twice, first scores were terrific, but she wanted to see if she could improve (second scores not received yet).

Tonight she's running a booth at the football game for the Psych Club, for mental health awareness, has flyers and such for services, assistance. Sometimes I'm like, 'Who is this person?" :D

Welp, 7 months, one MRI, and 3 neurologist visits later, neurologist says my issues were caused by that time I took 3 vaccines at once in April. I won’t be doing that again.

He says it should clear itself up within 2 years from when it started, so i’m looking forward to Apr. 2027.

Wow man, going to look back at which vaccines here. I'm about to go get the flu and covid but have never heard of these causing neurological issues.

Curious... which three? Covid, flu, and Shingrix? And was it all three or two out of three that caused the problem?

The perfect storm, eh? I haven't had 3 at one go in a very long time. Glad they figured it out.

That sounds a bit, well, odd. I say this (as we spoke about) as someone who has had a lot of discussion with two Doc friends (once who's brother is a neuro specialist).

Did they suggest it was a immune-mediated reaction / immune-related neuropathy or like a flare up of a pre-existing condition?

Like what mechanism is causing nerve involvement type symptoms?

I hope it's as simple as you described!

He gave me a couple names for the issue, but he was talking fast. I think he said brachial neuritis (a very mild case). Immune system goes nuts and causes swelling in the shoulder/chest area around the nerves. Or something.

He hasn’t input his notes into the system yet - last time it took a few days - but his explanation made sense to me, and given the MRI and other tests, everything else seems to be ruled out.

Given that the symptoms started about a week after i got the vaccines, I had suggested this connection to him when I first met him, and he thought it unlikely. But now everything else has been ruled out.

The good news is that the electric shocks in my hand stopped after a couple months, and about a week ago, for about 10 minutes one night, suddenly the feeling came back in my thumb (it felt crazy being able to feel again), so it’s trending the right way.

That's awesome! Yeah, so much medicine and diagnostics, isn't ID-ing the issue, so much as just ruling out as much as possible.

And if you went through an MRI series, especially cervical/thoracic, nothing notable (herniated discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis), this sounds like a good diag and result!
