Too late for that. Death Pool games run from January 1st to December 31st. The game can be entertaining, sad, perverse, and educational, and it requires a full-size handbasket. I scored 22 points on 2 unique picks last year.

The one I play in has very sensible rules

You get 13 picks

• a valid pick must be a living human, over 18 (because, choosing children is just too over-the-line of bad taste)
• they must be known for something other than just being near death's door
• if your pick dies during the game, your score for them is 100 - ( their age at time of death )
• you cannot (knowingly) pick someone who posts here
• murder to gain points is not allowed

We could start a deathpool game any time, but the calendar year is the easiest. Players should at least have some time to compile a proper list. I would suggest a specific thread for the game.

Here is an interesting one. Anatoli Bugorski is 83. Forty Seven years ago, he was checking on malfunctioning particle accelerator equipment when it suddenly activated and fired a proton beam through his head. Doctors, believing he had received a fatal dose of radiation, stood and watched, as he completed his doctoral thesis and then return to work in the lab.
