See? Glass. New UX. Let’s over-analyze….

Anyway, June 9-13. Let’s see what we get this year…

Messages screenshot in ios19 according to Prosser.

Look at them shiny buttons on top - they look like they want to be pressed! what a great invention - borders on buttons!

Not sure what’s going on with the keyboard - looks like it’s in a shiny roundrect, hence the curved suggestion buttons over the top row.

Whoa! Next they’ll be saying the notes app should look like note paper…

Apparently Gurman is saying that Prosser’s info is out of date, and the changes will be much more extensive than this.

Still, I’m happy with layers and buttons that have borders.

I just watched the Prosser video. I'm with him. I didn't see a single difference in anything.

This is what happens when you've cornered yourself into an annual release whether it needs it or not... "ooh, I think those buttons are sort of glassy now?"

…I’m not really seeing it? They’ve had yearly releases for a long time now and they rarely do this.

It stands to be seen what gets released but with visionOS and the Apple apps that arrived after (Sports, Invites) I’m not surprised a redesign would happen. I just hope it’s a bit more than glass buttons and keyboard sections though 😒

Hoping for some advances in Metal. Maybe Metal 4.
aside from FG is Metal API missing anything? I guess that is pessimistic view that they are having to catch up. With "neural rendering" being the buzz now I guess that is something they could add/work on as well.

Metal is pretty much state of the art for gaming, but it lacks a lot of advanced features for complex compute and ML work. Some fundamental features I'd like to see are advanced work synchronization between shaders (this includes forward progress guarantees and synchronization atomics) and dynamic shader invocation. Also, the standard library is rather rudimentary.
