Yeah certainly not his finest hour, along with the Cambodia bombing, but the Nobel committee must have liked him. At least he wrote a good book then. Not many terrorists can claim that fame.

When it happened I was a young socialist activist. We mourned Allende.

Kissinger - though - can be considered a genius of his age.

That being said I hated him twice, in 1973 because of Allende and in 1984 when I wrote my diploma on his Realpolitik.

An excellent, nunaced response, and not just because I find myself in complete agreement with it.

One can deplore some of Dr Kissinger's actions while simultaneously saluting his intellect and being in awe of his vast knowledge and extraordinary diplomatic experience.
