So it turns out I also got moderated with my post edited and my "insult" was that me screenshotting their laughing emoji reaction to my post and saying "oh good. one of these. easy ignore." According to Steve from MR this, but not the react emoji itself which is still present, violates forum protocol because I'm "telling everyone else to ignore them" even though clearly I am not from the context. So I wrote back:
I don't expect anything to change, MR is what it is, but it's another reason to post there as infrequently as possible and dip out as soon as you think it's a troll.
Interesting ... I figured that was probably the offending sentence. However, I would take issue with that. I was not in fact being insulting. I was responding to their use of the laughing emoji to react to my post, which is designed to be an actual insult and which I note is still attached to my post from said user. Thus, I was stating that I had no intention on continuing to interact with a user who acts like that - I did not say everyone else had to ignore them. If insulting someone using the react system is allowed by moderation but responding to it is not, then you foster a very toxic community environment in which the react system is abused.
I don't expect anything to change, MR is what it is, but it's another reason to post there as infrequently as possible and dip out as soon as you think it's a troll.
