I wonder which morning Zuckerberg woke up and decided on attempting to join the world's most hated wealthy frauds club. Out of the group I don't think I've ever heard anybody say "We wouldn't be we are today without his vision and leadership". META would do just fine without him and nobody thinks otherwise. Ironically out of the group he was possibly seen as the most in support of inclusion and diversity and now he's shitting all over that, his possible one redeemable quality.

One of the biggest drivers for me to stop posting on FB years before finally deleting my account was the fact that even if I wanted to simply reply to a story it would broadcast it to all of my friends. The site is built to violate your privacy in every way.

I am not so sure that Zuck was really in his heart a DEI proponent. Remember FB started as a means to compare women coed looks. Or so the legend states.

There is a well known sci-fi novel called Ringworld in which luck becomes a stunningly signifcant character. If you have read it, the connection here is obvious, but I will not spoil it for anyone who has not but might.
 
It’s fairly easy to judge, that people with huge piles of money, can’t be trusted to be moral if they perceive their wealth or their money making machine is jeopardized. I realize the idea of morality is very flexible, but I’ll go with what I imagine is average normal people with a common view of personal qualities like the importance of truth, honesty, integrity, tolerance, competence and fairness. The racists, MAGOTs, Nazis, and The Cult are excluded as far as residing within my framework of morality.. 🤔

Most of my fact-checking on Facebook these days involves correcting people who think Hogan was better than Steve Austin or Bret Hart.

It’s great, you unfollow a couple pages, like a couple of bands and 80’s pop culture pages, and your feed is mindless nonsense that makes you chuckle.

And if I feel the need to be a smartass, I post a comment and then unfollow the conversation so I never hear a retort 😂

These tech bros made it ubundantly clear after the election their only responsibility is to their wallets. Not that we had much doubt about that anyways. So while I can’t trash some of my social accounts, I can make them into essentially an instant messenger with a post or vid to make me laugh.
 
Wow, this is utterly creepy. And they spent a hundred billion dollars on it. I mean, maybe it is just because I am old, but holy crap it looks bad.

Their entire push for AI (and VR) has flopped in a pretty big way, most people just want basic functionality to work and they hijack it by forcing their nonsensical tech on you. A good example of this is search in Instagram, you have to tell it to bypass all the AI bullshit just to be able to simply type a name in the text input field.
