I would love them to bring back the 11” MBA form factor.
Couldn't agree more.
The 11" MBA (okay, mine was a maxed out CTO) is the best computer I have ever had, bar none.
And - for travel - nothing beats it.
I would love them to bring back the 11” MBA form factor. I still have one i keep around and sometimes use when I travel. I guess that would be around a 12—13” screen if you eliminate the bezels.
After reading about the up and coming MBA I’m not sorry I ordered the most recent one. It’s still my favorite form factor.
Amen to that.
While most of the tech world, and much of the world which discusses tech, is dominated by males (perhaps even white males), I suspect that a great many MBAs were bought (and loved) by women, who loved the fact that it was exceptionally portable, powerful, and utterly reliable.
My first Apple was a 15" MBP, and, while it was a superb computer, frankly, it was too heavy for me, (a middle aged, short, somewhat three dimensional, allergic to all that gym nonsense, female) to carry around entirely comfortably when I was travelling abroad.
However, I love the MBA form factor - and absolutely adore my 11" MBA; that thing has - quite literally - travelled the world with me.
The other thing about the MBA (other than its weight) is its sheer reliability.
Anyway, I'd happily shell out for an extremely well made 12", irrespective of what they choose to name it (although I do recall my gasp of pure pleasure - pleasure as pain, it was so exquisitely beautiful and such a brilliant a design - when the late Mr Jobs pulled the first MBA out from an A4 envelope, it was the only time in my life when I saw a computer and immediately thought, "I want"..) - something as reliable and portable and swift and powerful as my 11" MBA.
