Nintendo Switch 2

If you have a nintendo subscription (plus, or deluxe or whatever its called) the Zelda switch 2 game upgrades are included in that.

I understood there were like two levels of S1 to S2 Zelda ports. First one is playing S1 Zelda on S2, with some improvements (that's free), but that the full on S2 (that fully capitalizes on the S2 hardware improvements), is the $9.99 upgrade?

If not, that's awesome! Though I don't get what the "Update Pack" is I posted[?]

They internet would be disappointed if the Switch 2 only matched the PS5 because that came out in like, 2020.

But the internet is stupid.
I actually think the screen is fine, but then again I have the OG Switch and the OG Steamdeck so I guess I am easily appeased.

You have to have NSO + Expansion Pack to get the Switch 2 editions for "Free".

What you outlined here is basically true generally as well. Nintendo pushed out free patches for many titles that add some basic S2 improvements (HDR, better resolution, framerate cap changes, etc). If you want something that actually runs as a S2 game and gets full advantage of the hardware with better textures/etc? That's the "Switch 2 Edition" upgrade, which as @diamond.g points out, is discounted if you are paying the extra for the Switch Online stuff.

Gotcha. Excellent. I think we have an official Xmas in July on deck this year (like we pull out a tree and everything :D ), so the Switch 2 may get opened before December :ROFLMAO:

They work out of the box as is (no paid upgrade, no subscription, maybe a download for the emulation to work, not the s2 game).

The "upgrade" to the switch 2 version with hi res textures, 4k, etc. is included in the higher tier switch subscription service for free. It's not discounted: it's free, included with NSO+Expansion pack. Source: It warned me that it was included when I went to purchase it :D

edit:
Beaten - yeah it's the NSO Expansion pack. That gives you above.
