I'll admit there's not a lot of variety to the photos here, but the fact that he's stayed in roughly the same location for over a month while acknowledging I'm there and taking pictures daily shows some form of intelligence. That's not even getting into their brain managing 5 eyes on a tiny scale while ours manages 2. Spiders, 8.

No, that is not a Monarch caterpillar on your parsley plant.
Monarch caterpillars do not eat parsley. Black Swallowtail butterfly caterpillars eat members of the Carrot Family including parsley, parsnips, Queen Anne’s Lace, dill, and fennel.kimsmithdesigns.com
