Two days ago my wife and I went up to downtown San Francisco (a first since the pandemic) to see Diego Rivera's Pan American Unity fresco mural at the SF Museum of Modern Art. It has been on loan to the museum for the last two years. The mural measures 74 feet long by 22 feet high and weighs 60,000 pounds. In a word, it's astonishing. Fortunately, there weren't many people around so I was able to make a few photos with my phone. Rivera and his assistants created the mural in 1940 during the Golden Gate International Exposition at San Francisco's Treasure Island.
