The Republican Agenda 2021 and Forward

I blame Biden.

Medicaid portals down in all 50 states after Trump funding freeze, Sen. Wyden says
  • Medicaid reimbursement portals were down in all 50 states after the Trump administration ordered a freeze on federal grants and loans, said Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.
  • The shutdown in access to the Medicaid system came a day after the acting Office of Management and Budget Director Matthew Vaeth issued a memo ordering a “Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs.”
  • White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said she expected systems to “be back online shortly” without any effect on payments.

Enjoy this handy guide for spotting Nazis.

Killing one of the most effective agencies promoting world wide good will toward the US seems like slicing off your nose to spite your face.
But on second thought, I can't think of any part of T that wouldn't benefit from being sliced off.

What does the anti-Ukraine, “America-First! Stop sending our money overseas!” crowd think of the U.S. taking over the Gaza Strip after Trump’s empty real-estate pitch? I don’t think that will be cheap.

I was on I5 in Chehalis, where there is a RW Uncle Sam billboard that has been there for half a century. It currently says "How many Americans will we leave behind in Ukraine?" Methinks he needs an update.

Guess this is as good a place as any:

McConnell falls down the stairs in the Senate building.

Term limits anyone?
It's sad to see people refusing to give in. My father-in-law had several falls that landed him in the hospital each time, during every stay he would scream "let me out of here, I want to go home" even to the point of calling 911 from his hospital room because they wouldn't release him with a broken back and 3 broken ribs. Nobody in the family can take care of him because he's hostile and abusive, we even had to pull my mother-in-law out of the home after he struck her and went to jail.

After his last hospital visit about a week ago, he demanded to go home yet again and none of us could force him into skilled or assisted nursing. The day they dropped him off he fell and died on the floor, presumably 2 days before he was found there. A horrible way to go and nothing we could've done to prevent it. I won't even go into the battles we had with the state of Oregon to prevent it either.

I'll just reiterate that I'm in my late 50s and even now if I were unable to function alone I would gladly take assisted living. I'll never understand the aversion to it.

Wow that is awful. The sandwich generation, I am completely empathetic to your plight. I am currently in a similar situation with my dad, but not as bad as yours was. Yet

McConnell is different. I don't feel any pity for that man at all. All he had to do, was have a fair trial and we wouldn't be in the current dismantling of democracy.

Found out about this from other sources and weirdly found this video without commentary on an account with low views and followers. Good sympathetic advise and history lesson to the now famous young farmer who could lose their farm because of Trump policies.

Something that never really gets mentioned about Regan killing the fairness doctrine is it cuts both ways. Yes, it was successfully used as a tool to elevate fear and minority rule by the right, but it also insulated people on the left from the struggles of rural people. We have ignored them, busy with our own world and struggles either thinking they are living their best rural life or are a bunch of ignorant racists. And here we are with the worst examples given microphones and power. Maybe we should actually come for them as they fear, but not to attack, to find common cause against the same enemy.

I see the spineless senate GOP is heading the way of the house GOP. The only person they could muster a backbone against was Matt Gaetz. No spine among them to toss aside any of the other equally laughable and unqualified dipsticks Trump picked. In fact, if I was a picking out a joke fantasy cabinet for Trump, it would look a lot like his actual cabinet.

That the senate put through inept picks like RFK, Gabbard, Hegseth and Patel is proof they have no problem lying through their teeth to constituents. They aren’t lying to me, I know full well those people should be mid-level nobodies somewhere else at best, it’s the MAGA base these rank and file republicans are afraid to tell the truth to. The proof is in their comments about these candidates in the past.

Also really anxious to see Marco Rubio sit down with someone outside of Newsmax and Fox and hear him explain why he works for a president calling Zelensky a dictator as he continues polishing Putin’s knob.

Democrats aren’t much better with their ineptness at the moment.

What do you expect, Dear American Voter, when you place a bull in the china store and a fox in charge of the henhouse?

Plus, in this case, the bull(shitter) doesn't know china from a brick, and the fox never saw a chicken before?

I want to see him respond to Trump’s overly sexual love affair with a murderous dictator.

And what he thinks about this sign at CPAC.

Honestly I don't know why people are getting worked up about this possibility. By 2028 we will no longer be living in anything that resembles a Democracy. He already uses the constitution for toilet paper. If not full dictatorship we'll be in the middle of some crisis, or probably multiple, where we just won't have elections because "reasons".

Take note that in Ukraine's constitution they can't have elections during war. Trump is completely ignoring that and just saying Zelensky is being a dictator by not having elections. Just you watch years from now when the hyper hypocrite comes up with some similar reason to not have elections which according to him doesn't mean he is a dictator.

I’d say that should be a message to any nation utilizing Starlink to find an alternative now, if they have the luxury. What good is it if not in times when it’s needed? You don’t want a petulant bored “frat bro” in his fifties threatening to take it away from you when you really need it. So consider it more as a tool to stream Netflix when camping in the desert and less of a national security tool.
