Only downsides I’ve found is my near vision (for reading closer than computer distance) needs about +1.25 correction (in the left eye. Too soon to judge right eye), and if I’m looking at text at the very near edge of its focussing ability (around 1 foot and a half, say), it’s a little distorted (i.e. wavy).

Are you seeing any other oddities at night? I have a few, but not too bad – I consider them special effects. I also had some visual clouding that was attributed to thickening of the posterior capsule and that was successfully treated with a laser capsulotomy.

If a point light source hits at exactly the right angle, I may see a tiny little halo. Rare, and not distracting - I only notice because I’m looking for it. High beam headlights coming directly at me do flare, though it’s about the same as I used to see while wearing my glasses, so it doesn’t bother me. And in low light I can’t see quite as well as my wife (who wears glasses). Apparently you lose a little contrast with these, but I wouldn’t have known it except my wife was able to read a distant sign that I couldn’t the other night.

I hear there’s an even better lens - Galaxy - that gets you even closer vision, but it’s not yet available in the U.S., which is a shame.
 
Had my 1-month check-in with each of the eye surgeons. They are excited by the results. Both eyes healing great. Retina in right eye is “smooth,” which is much improved. As it flattens out over the next year, vision in right eye should continue to improve.

Overall, very happy with the results. I stopped carrying readers because I found I seldom need them (though I had to read an old dictionary at work the other day and the text was too small so I had to use my phone as a magnifying glass). Distance vision is great - only issue is my brain flips back and forth choosing which I is dominant, so sometimes vertical lines look a little bent and sometimes they don’t. And there are a couple of floaters in the left eye that sometimes show up outdoors. I bought a pair of nice maui jim sunglasses without a prescription, and it feels crazy after 50 years to be able to walk around without glasses (I still forget and reach for nonexistent glasses on my nightstand most mornings).

I go back to the surgeons and an optometrist in April, where they’ll record final data for their research study.

That will come with time. The biggest issue I had was driving at night in the rain. Other lights would illuminate water drops on the glass and I had to conscientiously think to look past where my eyes wanted to focus. And I had mine done in November, so right into the winter rainy season.

Since we are talking about eyesight, say a prayer for my HS friend Rob B. He had his left eye removed this past week. He was a professional fireworks person and there was a mishap over the 4th of July and a firework somehow got tipped and hit him in the eye. Doctors did everything they could to save it, but after 6 months, they decided to give up. Did you know can take up to 6 months to get a fake eye made? Anyway, thoughts and prayers for him.
 
Over the long weekend we did our "what if we lived in DTO [Downtown Orlando]" trip, which is likely where we wind up.

We loved the area we stayed in, I guess it's not DTO "proper" but right there, called Thornton Park, by Lake Eola, a few blocks more SE so only the background of a highway off in the distance (which I kind of find soothing 😄 )

Record stores, books, bars, food, festivals, concerts, all within a few blocks. 20 minute uber ride to Disney springs! 15 minute self-drive over to the Hard Rock!

Pretty much every place around there for Valentine’s Day had no brunch reservation available and then of course JB is magic so she found us a perfect reservation at the stubborn mule at 11 AM. Had a fantastic table outside whether it was perfect. No one else around, fantastic food!

Then we walked around the lake hit up the bar that’s over by these Swan boats you can rent (hahaha, there was a long line 😄 ) for another beverage came back to the room relaxed for a while then just popped out, walked over to Bynx 2 blocks awatc had a beer scored some killer vinyl.

I picked this up!

Last day we drove over to USF, parked at the Hard Rock, had a killer lunch at Cow Fish, parking at a resort is a great option, you avoid the big giant public parking lot, the big giant public security entry point, it’s super close to the park entrance - and only about 16 more dollars more for the day (for parking).

We also hit up the UCF campus, the daughter may wind up there, which would be amazing since we'd be like 20 minutes away :) We stopped at Lazy Moon Pizza, excellent, and umm, these slices ... fork for scale ...

That’s awesome. The only F-150 I would want is a Raptor.

Also has to last year’s car as the 2026’s don’t have enough power to do donuts. 😳😃

Yeah this one was seriously jacked up, you could hear it for blocks and that's in the city. Cool show.

Brutal time of year and a definitely some bickering back and forth, mostly my wife asking me to account for things that I forgot about. She's a machine when it comes to this stuff and I'm like "I can't right now, I gotta check my social". :mrgreen:

Seriously though, the LLC is a whole new can of worms for us but we're learning as we go, hoping to have it to our tax person next week.

Thanks, yeah that was unsanctioned as well so I had to be careful not to interrupt their ops which is why I was so far away. I was more concerned they were going to ask me to pull it than anything lol. That's why I waited 24 hours to post as not to blow their private shoot with my reach online in San Francisco, I figured it may blow up.
