What Movie Are You Watching?

Training Day is spectacular, I love the Equalizer films too, they're such a totally different vibe, they're borderline superhero movies - they're a great trilogy too, with a satisfying conclusion that manages to be pretty introspective (re: your Equalizer 3 review above).

Equalizer films, Training Day, all directed by Antoine Fuqua, if you want another of his films that's really gritty like Training Day - and also stars Ethan Hawke (again), check out Brooklyn's Finest (2009).

The director has a real talent for story telling. This character is exactly like a super hero, due to his ability, to tactically, mentally plan a deadly physical assault on multiple adversaries in a close encounter. Yes, it borders on impossible, but the genius of this is executing it in such alway that it does not break your suspension of disbelief. He’s like a killer ghost in plain sight, yet as we see in E3, he’s vulnerable if he let’s his sympathy interfere in his judgement.
