Wouldn’t surprise me if they were working on it. Would surprise me if they released it any time soon - not sure people are looking for such a thing.

Is it me or does it feel like everyone looks at LLMs and goes "We can build Jarvis/HAL9000/insert-reference-here"?

The Apple Watch took a little while to find what the primary use case was. And I don't really know that this by itself is interesting enough to be its own category, versus just making the watch do this.

yeah, I don’t get it other than there may be some advantage to having forward-looking cameras that are always there. But I’m not sure the world is ready for everyone walking around with always-on bodycams (similar to google glass), and then i’m not sure there’s any point putting compute in the “pin” vs. making it an accessory for your phone. Apple has to explore and see if there is a viable product there, but I’m guessing there really isn’t.

It’s all due to engagement obsession, and NLP allows that in ways that are apparently terrible despite the dreams and intentions of research folk. Black Mirror missed the mark on ratings rather than engagement.

What I want, for my portable devices, is an xSIM, a storage device that I can have as, say, a necklace or bangle or ankle or, ahem, c'ring, what ever, so that I can keep my data next to my person all the time. Some sort of secure-data BT exchange would handle most of my files, though passwords et al would be moved across a low power link requiring the device to be in close proximity. Someone might grab my notebook in the airport, but it would not have anything on it. The xSIM would also have a biometric spec that would only allow it to function on my body.

A pin? Like this?

Maybe, I say maybe, and only then
someone will be able to help people in danger instead of filming them with their phones..
it’s a disaster both ways
