So is that a MY25? Or an LCI/MY26 car?

I saw a recent post on Reddit, person just took delivery of an M70 in Frozen Gray, holy shit, if we wind up with another iX in '27, this might be the config :D

It’s a MY26.

As for 2027, there are some rumors that the ix5 will be out then? Which I imagine is the end of the road for the ix.

ix5 isn’t neue klasse though? very confusing

UPDATE: some purported ix5 spy shots and renders.

Looks like it takes a lot of design cues from the ix3, but shares a chassis with an ICE version, and a range extending engine version (with something like 600+ miles range). Guessing it will have an annoying transmission hump.

I can understand the plot to Primer easier than BMW's roadmap ...

Right, so as I understand it (which is not much :D ), the iX3 is NK, iX5 and iX7 are CLAR (platform), iX will continue into MY27, meaning it will overlap with all the iX# models ... 🤪

I can only imagine the sales drones trying to explain that. "Well, this is the same size as that, and has the same features, but it's different, but mostly the same ..."

yeah, if there is overlap I can’t see it lasting long. And unless something drastic happens with tariffs, I can’t even see ix being sold in America once ix5 is out - ix5 will purportedly be built in spartanburg, so it should avoid most of the tariffs. Right now it appears BMW is eating the tariffs on the iX, but I can’t see that lasting too much longer.

Also not sure who would prefer ix at that point. iX will charge slower, have worse range, probably less luggage space, etc. I guess if you really love the iDrive knob that much, want slightly better carplay integration, and really hate transmission humps (which I assume ix5 will have), then iX would still be an option. And not sure they will bother to update iDrive very much for iX now that they are going with the panorama stuff.

As far as exterior styling, looks to me like ix5 likely wins, too. More muscular/less bulbous, and the front end looks nicer. (Though personal preferences obviously vary).

Oh, I'm an easy sell, I love the X5 design, you give me THAT with an updated, faster charging, longer range EV config? Yes please :) (I might still curse the empty transmission hump ...)

I guess it really depends on, well, everything. The rollout, tariffs, WW III, etc :D

I loved my wife’s x5 (before it was totaled - though i love that it gave up its life and kept her safe), and I’d buy this in a heartbeat:
