Apple has its first touchscreen-equipped Mac coming later this year: the M6 MacBook Pro. A new report offers fresh details on what to expect.

I don’t think there’s anything really new in this (Gurman-originated) set of rumors, but it seemingly confirms that the MBP’s coming at the end of the year will have OLED, dynamic island, touch interface (that comes up when you touch the screen, but otherwise stays out of the way), etc.

I was figuring Apple would be putting out a pencil-enabled iMac, because it seems like the ideal easel-like format for artists.

To explain the dual MBP releases this year, I bet the plan is to keep the M5 Pro and Max models on sale, and these new M6 Touchscreen MBPs will be a new tier that sits above, starting at $2499.

A new ultra-high end tier will also help absorb component costs across the entire Mac line.

Could be. Could also be that they couldn’t get the new M6 ones to market until the end of the year and they felt like they needed at least a spec-bumped model to fill the gap.

I’m still on my M1 Max MBP, so the rumored M6 MBP with these major new features (I’ve also that’s built-in-cellular) is calling to me…
