The Republican Agenda 2021 and Forward

Well, on the bright side, turn on the supposed “mainstream liberal media” and tell me with a straight face they aren’t more critical of dems than Fox have been on conservatives at any point in the last 25 years.

The press coverage of dems right now is brutal, and it should be. They deserve it. Like I said earlier, I’m especially disappointed with Hakeem Jeffries. Democrats are better at governing and republicans are better at running defense.

Trump said over and over he’d have the Ukraine war ended in 24 hours after winning the election. Now he’s saying he was being sarcastic and “what I was really saying was I’d like to see it settled.”

“Well, I was being a little bit sarcastic when I said that,” Trump said in a clip released ahead of the episode airing Sunday. “What I really mean is I’d like to get it settled and, I’ll, I think, I think I’ll be successful.”

Not the first time he's used that excuse. Problem is, like so many other concepts, he doesn't understand what sarcasm is or how it works.

I know I've mentioned it but this is why my wife is afraid to take my mother-in-law to update her status after her husband passed away. I also have personal friends impacted by this, all I can say is if there's any question whatsoever I would avoid anything to do with immigration status right now.

Even those married or engaged to U.S. citizens are being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, USA TODAY has learned.

In addition to Muñoz, USA TODAY has confirmed through attorneys, family members and documents that ICE has detained for weeks:
  • a woman in her 50s who has lived in the country more than 30 years and is married to a U.S. citizen;
  • a woman in her 30s with proof of valid permanent legal residency, whose father and siblings are U.S. citizens, and who first came to the U.S. as a teen;
  • a European woman in her 30s engaged to a U.S. citizen who overstayed her visa when she was 21;
  • a woman engaged to a U.S. legal permanent resident, with whom she has lived for nine years.

They’re detaining valid green card holders and people who have maintained their legal status. Again, this is not a surprise. JD Vance said on the trail he didn’t care what their legal status was. Immigrant voters who voted for Trump because they thought he was going to “go after the criminals first” fail to realize that if your elderly mother is undocumented, she is a criminal. “Crime” means more than gang violence, rape, drugs and murder. It also means being here illegally. Or here at all for some of these folks with legal status who are being detained.

This is WWII-era stuff.

Yeah, Rubio, that f-ing little muppet was on FTN this morning, and Margaret asked him about people being pro-Palestine being detained, etc., he started spewing about how the left was anti 1A on social media, so, so, so ...

He basically stopped short of saying, "This is retaliation", then she asked him, what other protests, i.e., against what other countries (and sort of implied 'companies') might fall under this same scrutiny, and he babbled something about "terrorism", so at what point is saying, "Trump is a fuckwitted, impotent, Russian cuck" going to be deemed, "terrorism"?

For those who have been following the Venezuelan deportation story - if the face of an opposing court order (hello, constitutional crisis...):

From the NYT: "The Alien Enemies Act allows for summary deportations of people from countries at war with the United States. The law, best known for its role in the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, has been invoked three times in U.S. history — during the War of 1812, World War I and World War II"

Since when are we at war with Venezuela? If countries with gangs qualify, who are we NOT at war with?

In other words, any legal alien from just about any country with gangs (Palestinians, Mexicans, Columbians, Italians, Irish, Russians, Japanese, ....... New Yorkers,,,,) can now be deported without any judicial intervention (how many of the 200 Venezuelans were actually members of that gang???)

G'bye, Rule of Law. It was nice while it lasted.

We are at war with the nation of Terror. It is a very large country. All the government has to do is decide that you are a citizen of that nation and you will be held an an enemy sympathizer. Expect such detainments to rise steadily until the private prison system is flush with conscripted labor. Prove that you are a citizen of Terror? That is for wimps. The legal system will protect the assholes in charge of it and bind anyone who objects to their actions.

No explanation... and despite the court order to not deport people, and if they are on a plane that plane should turn around. Trump and minions go and deport this Kidney Transplant specialist.

Felon-ONE

that is a RW thing

Same as “context”. Just say it was taken out of context and you’re good. Even when you explicitly mention the context…

Since when does Trump follow the law? The law is supposed to bend what he deems it to be at any given moment depending on what he did wrong or what he merely thinks someone else did wrong.

From the same people who didn't vote for the lady who literally ran on a platform to tax the rich.

Don’t worry, the GOP controls everything so there won’t be a years-long investigation.

The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across Yemen.

I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

They are trying to take us back to a time when Fred Trump was in his pre-Gomez Adams days, well over 100 years ago. This ought to help with the education problems in the country, giving kids slave wage jobs nobody else wants after we’ve sent all the brown people away.

God forbid we have any “free big government money” going out for activity centers or after school activities. Because then we’d have to tax the billionaires at the same rate we’re going to tax the underage labor. Or even half of that rate! Can’t have that. Or tax them at all, really, there’s a write-off for everything. I broke even but anticipated making a billion and didn’t get it, so it can be considered a loss. I’m sure there’s a law somewhere for a mental grievance deduction.

The state’s legislature on Tuesday advanced a bill that would loosen child labor laws, allowing children as young as 14 years old to work overnight shifts. If the new law is passed, teenagers would be able to work overnight jobs on school days. They are currently prevented from working earlier than 6:30 am or later than 11 pm per state law.

What a joke. 2025 and we’ve somehow learned less than nothing.
