USA Election 2024

Two rich white billionaires - one allegedly and one of them a felon for sure - running on grievance politics.

In what banana republic is the felon going across the country in a private jet calling the president and VP stupid and low IQ? It’s certainly not yet the America he wants for himself, where such a thing is not possible. How many Putin and Kim Jong Un hold big rallies all over the nation mocking the leader?

Weighing out the important decisions.

On one hand disgusting, on the other hand unexpected.
But Aileen Cannon now can no longer be considered impartial, which means, once the documents case is kicked back to the lower court (which it most likely will be), she won't be the presiding judge anymore.
Which doesn't change the fact that she managed to delay the case for over a year, and Trump could have been convicted months ago...

If that happens I have to concede that, that would be a pretty epic troll. That’s going to sting. But it will probably be one of many. His first term was kind of hamfisted loosely qualified people. A second term would be first unwavering loyalty and second whoever will piss off Democrats the most. Qualifications won’t even enter into the determination.

I don’t think Cannon could handle the heat of AG. Whoever it is under Trump is going to be under a microscope 24/7 and from what I’ve read she’s kind of an unhinged bitch behind closed doors. She’ll have a complete public mental breakdown as AG attempting to defend her clearly corrupt and idiotic decisions.

It’s absolutely true that Woodward’s book describes events a year ago when donors viewed Biden to be a wreck. It’s also true that Woodward provides the alternate explanation that Chief Dick Pic Correspondents should immediately recognize — but won’t, because they’re trying to drum up scandal somewhere else now. One of the things making Biden a wreck was the guilt of knowing his son had become enemy number one as a way to harm him personally.

Let me just speak to what people are feeling. We cannot despair. We cannot despair. You know, the nature of a democracy is such that I think there’s a duality. On the one hand, there’s an incredible strength when our democracy is intact. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people.

Oh there’s great strength in that.

And, it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so that’s the moment we’re in. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy, the people — every individual — has the power to make a decision about what this will be.

And so let’s not feel powerless.

Let’s not let the — and I get it, overwhelming nature of this all make us feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that’s not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment. And we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways then, let us look at the challenge that we have been presented and not be overwhelmed by it.

The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country that we love. That’s what we have the power to do.

So let’s own that? Dare I say be joyful in what we will do in the process of owning that which is knowing that we can and will build community and coalitions and remind people that we’re all in this together.

Let’s not let the overwhelming nature of this strip us of our strength.

That’s how I feel about this.

"I promise not to kill 6 million Jews"
~Donald J. Trump

Not a hard bar to set, even for Trump but appreciate the clarification.
Weirdly I would feel more sure that was going to happen if he actually said that - and doubly worried if I were gay, Roma, disabled, or Slavic (plus all the others). Or in Trump's case: trans, Hispanic, disabled, and Haitian (I'm leaving off more I'm sure - Edit: Muslim of course and naturally African Americans in general as well as the recent Haitian immigrants).

I know Jews who are voting for Trump despite his affinity for Nazis because they think he’d be “better for Israel.” It’s reprehensible and spits on the memory of the 6 million Jews and 5 million others murdered by the Nazi regime.
