What are you doing today?

I had a depressing visit ….because of the young self-centred neurologist attitude. He didn’t ask me anything, looked at his computer screen while I was telling him my timeline of events since COVID.
Diagnose: I have long covid migraine. My GP told me that already, duh 🙄
He made a list of drugs by telling for each one only the terrible side effects they bring along: glaucoma, kidney failure, heart attack etc
He just wanted to sell me his quarterly migraine botox treatments:” I’m the best around to do it.” 1000$ each.
.. anyway waiting to see a pain management migraine specialist that seems good and has a longer experience
Waiting list seems not too bad mid December - beginning of January . Fingers crossed 🤞!
Okay, I got to ask. I thought Botox was for non-surgical cosmetic applications. When did they start using it for migraines?

In chronic migraine, sensory nerves become inflamed and hypersensitive. This inflammation is caused by various molecules released by the sensory nerves. Botox blocks this process, resulting in a “calming” effect on the pain, but it’s doesn’t last

Many injections sigh

But I hope to “keep my wrinkles” 🤪 and fix the migraine with supplements that seems to work for many 🙂

Thank you for the insight... Modern medicine! Who knew! Hopefully, you get relief soon.

Thank you! Slowly but it’s starting to work with supplements specific for migraines during the day and a new drug at night time for now, - in the list of the link that @cbum posted- but that one can only be taken 16 days per month. Better too because it’s $$$$ and it’s not cover by our insurance neither MSP and of course you can transform in a 🦇 on the 17th day 🥴

like Viagra but more useful

There was an episode of Top Gear in which they were driving hoopties over the Bolivian/Chilean Andes, and when they got to 15,000' they were feeling the effects of altitude, so they chewed the old tried-and-true coca leaves, then around 17,000', they used Viagra to allay the altitude sickness. So, while most people do not spend much time wandering around at ridiculous altitudes, Viagra does have its alternate uses.

Got home today after a fabulous visit to Nashville. Here were my two favorite parts.

Did y'all know there was a copy of the Parthenon in Nashville? This is the statue of Athena. It's enormous.
I love Nashville. I’ve been several times, though it’s been awhile. I didn’t know about Parthenon South, though. Cool!

Talking about cold and cats

Man, that extra hour in bed hit the spot.
Can we do that again, please?

Actually before we moved to AZ, which does not participate, falling back was always harder on me than springing forward. I used to take me a full week or more to get back to normal.

I think it’s harder because it happens when we have less daylight , like travelling to Europe or Asia during fall or winter
It’s so much harder because there is not enough light and to adjust those hours becomes a challenge
Good for Arizona, we were hoping to stop the change here too, but it seems we need to wait for all western US states to agree to it. 🙄
One state could be difficult, put 4 together 😵‍💫..in 2050 we’ll still discuss it...
