And it obviously had no impact on him as heās fine continuing to allow bullets to fly.I believe Scalise would be much better than McCarthy. I mean he does have a bullet in his ass.
Yup. Putting Trump in the Speaker's chair would have made his unsuitability for that or any other elected office even more glaringly obvious than it already is. The same will be true for Jordan or any other similarly deranged House member. I'm sure there are others on the R side who might stand a chance if they made a convincing case that they want to actually govern, though they'd still have Gaetz and his fellow clowns to deal with.View attachment 26380
Looks like someone convinced him what a truly terrible idea this was and to let the idiot Jim Jordan be the fall guy for the shit show instead.
I would think if it happens again he would never go for the "all it takes is one vote from a radical to remove you" clause. Most in the Republican party seem to support McCarthy and it appears they're running out of patience with Gates and his gang of 6.Did not have this on my Speaker BINGO card:
McCarthy does not rule out returning as Speaker if GOP deadlocked
Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) did not rule out returning to the post if the House Republican Conference cannot decide on a replacement. Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Mcā¦thehill.com
IF he is reelected, he will be so weak that you might as well let Jefferies have it. And I am actually intrigued as to how that would work.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out but right now with this unforeseen event in Israel it's holding things up so they need to get it together whatever they decide.
The entire Republican caucus should issue a statement like that. Of course they'll never do so, but it'd be great if at least some of the clowns who voted to overturn the election on January 6 would agree.Ken Buck stated on MSNBC he wants Scalise to publicly state the 2020 election was not stolen before committing to a vote for him.
He is very conservative and pretty much a hyperbolic firecracker, yet he seems beyond reasonable in normal procedural discussions.

Scalise has withdrawn from the race.
I will post the source when it hits the net.

House speaker race highlights: Steve Scalise drops out and what happens next
The latest news and updates on the chaotic House speaker's race after Republican nominee Steve Scalise drops out following the ousting of Rep. Kevin McCarthy.www.nbcnews.com
More context
House Republicans met behind closed-doors for more than two hours Thursday, where Scalise urged his detractors to explain their opposition to him in front of the conference. After the meeting ended, Scalise planned to huddle with those opposed to him in his office, along with the leaders of the various Republican conferences.
But the opposition to Scalise as the next speaker only grew Thursday, with roughly 20 Republicans publicly opposing him. Scalise needs a majority of the House to be elected speaker, meaning he can only afford to lose four votes.

My money is on the asks being too great, and Scalise being unwilling to leave the cult. Or maybe Trump got mad his pick Jordan lost and said the vote was rigged. So they all agreed as a caucus to not agree on Scalise.
I heard that Devolder (aka George Santos) is available.
As much as I would normally revel in Republican chaos, this is a really bad time for it. One of the worst possible. We need a functioning government.Scalise has withdrawn from the race.
