The fall of Tesla

Deliveries down by like 15%, but production is only down by like 2 or 3%.

Someone deduced that they only sold ~5000 CT's last quarter.

Car sales in Germany still continue to fall, and on the heels of all this news... Currently trading at +$2.16 stock price. I'll never understand the market. 🤷‍♂️
It's *the* meme stock. It's all about ironic common-sense-defying ritual of market manipulation by its CEO and reckless trading by its fans.

Musk dipping into alt-right politics, promising unrealistic timelines, and acting like a child are all features, not bugs. A "normal" CEO can never add so much ironic meme value to a stock. It's only possible because somehow Musk has convinced his engineers, Wall Street investors, and meme stock retail investors all buy into his vision of the company, as well as countless liberal-learning STEM-infatuated Musk-Tesla fans who had actually believed Musk was in it for the good of the humanity and the green movement.

That's the biggest feat achieved by Musk and in some ways it's a perfect encapsulation of this surreal Trump era on the business side.

And they ran out just after the earnings call when he told everyone the robots would be out in a year … like FSD for the last five years, like the hyperloop the last ten years, like a Mars colony since I can’t even remember

Quelle surprise:

Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot production plans have been halted, according to Taiwan’s Digitimes. The industry journal cites unnamed China supply chain sources, who informed reporters that Optimus was facing a redesign.

Reasons for this pause and design rethink include “overheating in joint motors, limited lifespan in transmission mechanisms, and inadequate battery endurance,” according to DigiTimes. It is also claimed that multiple parts suppliers are being assessed for new versions of components like joints, grippers, fluids, and manipulators, key to robot dexterity. The impact of rare earth procurement delays isn't brought up in the new report.
