The Trump Cesspool Thread- a place to drop misc Trump turds

Iowa Voter: My question is, how has your faith grown since you decided in 2015 to run for president? And who has mentored you in your faith journey?

Such a great question. I’ve seen so much heartache and turmoil. I was a developer and other things. I had a wonderful life before all of this. I didn’t know what a grand jury was. I didn’t know what a subpoena was. I had a wonderful life.

Let me ask you a question are you glad you didn’t? I couldn’t be more glad. I’m so happy I did it because I made America great and we can do it again right now we are not a great country. But I have gotten to know because of evangelicals, I meet so many people and they feel so good about themselves and their family. I had never had that kind of an experience I mean I know so many people who are so incredible religious people, not just Christians, when I look at the Catholic faith, you take a look at the FBI, look it with the FBI is doing to Catholics made them like the enemy.

It’s horrible. How could a Catholic ever vote for a Democrat or a guy like Biden after the experience? I have met some of the finest people that I wouldn’t have had the privilege of meeting their religious leaders. They really are incredible people.

Not that any of that would change that particular voter's "mind" in any way. Sad.

Man you can smell the snowflakes melting down.
I been discriminated against worse then anybody cause they done made fun of me

Poll: Trump voters say racism against white Americans is a bigger problem than racism against Black Americans

This is also a big part of the reason he lost twice and will definitely lose a third time.

Let’s see, he “won” in 2016, where a majority of American did not support him. After one long, miserable term, he lost to Joe Biden by a larger margin, even though turnout was higher.

And what’s happened since then? The Big Lie, January 6, he’s lost a civil suit about sexual assault and slander, he’s been criminally indicted at the state and federal level, and he’s facing another round of the same. Republicans barely took the house and almost all of Trump’s MAGA candidates lost - Kari Lake, Dr. Oz, Herschel Walker, Mastriano, etc.

He’s posting ads on Truth Social that would make North Koreans blush.

So it’s hard for me to see him having gained enough voters that he will unseat Biden.

Take a look at this video - you can skip the commentary and to to where Trump and Biden are talking. Tell me whose brain you honestly think is more scrambled?

During an Iowa Town Hall yesterday, Trump was asked how his faith has grown and who was his religious mentor? He responds rambling inept with unmitigated BS (“what’s a subpoena- haha”, “I had a great life”, “look at what the FBI is doing to Catholics!”, “I know a lot of evangelicals”), attacking the FBI and Dems, not answering the question, and this room full of morons clap and cheer.
They support this creep who is the exact opposite of religious. He lies and cheats constantly, he's vindictive and has no compassion for anyone other than himself, he cheated on all three of his wives and paid hush money to a porn star. And these morons think he's in any way religious?

In general I agree.

Except in the situation if Biden were to suffer an adverse medical event over the next 15 months that would make him appear to be unfit to be reelected President. Or, if he had to step aside so that Harris would run against trump.

One thing I've noticed over the last three years is his gait walking has become progressively less certain (I can't think of a better descriptor at the moment). In 12-15 months the optics could be terrible as he walks out to the center of the stage as he shakes the hand of his opponent before the debates. Add in less certainty while he's forming answers to debate questions and who knows how that would received.

It's that possibility that gives me pause as he'll be 81 years old in four months - whether he runs against trump or desantis/pence/whoever (should trump be convicted of crimes).

I hope I'm dead wrong on the above. It's the uncertainty (with no Plan B to pivot to if needed) that bothers me.

The same could apply to Trump, who's not that much younger and actually in worse physical shape.

True, but not as bad. His weight and diet is concerning from a health perspective. But so far I've not seen a decline over time in his walking ability and gait. Or in his ability to form sentences (though what he says is still garbage).

Also, if trump's health should deteriorate or if he were convicted of crimes, there are plenty of candidates running who could step in, some who would be just as bad (desantis, for example). In essence, the repubs have a Plan B. The Dems don't - other than Harris. Though I'm not sure about the mechanics of that working for either party.

The above doesn't ameliorate or discount my concerns about Biden running - no matter who he runs against happens to be.

Not that it was so great to start with.

Seems like the epitome of health, vigor and vitality. I’ll take Biden if he’s in a wheelchair over that.

I would too. Any day. But that's not my point.

Not sure about the rest of the voting public. Especially if trump (due to criminal convictions, feebleness, or whatever) doesn't run and someone else more fit, with better optics, more intelligent, and less offensive than trump does run.

There’s quite a few of those in the GOP who are running, but they all seem more intent on campaigning for Trump than themselves.

Not Asa Hutchinson. Not that he has a chance. But he's swinging against trump. Also Chris Christie.

Also... as soon as trump earns at least a conviction or two, I wouldn't be shocked if many change their tune. Not that that's a good look, but...

Exactly! This is Christianity corrupted, being controlled by Beelzebub. Rank and file Christians who are not scared shitless by this, are too stupid to worry about the wrath of God. Evangelicals who support The Head Asshole because they think they’ll get “what they want” is tragic or they are not Christians, but wolves in sheep’s clothing.

I always imagined Christianity rising up and collectively banishing such a dispicable human being, but instead they cheer and applaud him because he once picked up a Bible and claimed he was a Christian. Never mind that it blistered his fingers… . If this is a norm for humanity, there’s no way in hell we are making it though the Great Filter.

I think the most honest response an evangelical leader said in regards to the disconnect between their beliefs and who Trump really is was “It’s better to have an outsider who remembers who put them there than one of our own who thinks they got there on their own.” There is a logic to that, but it also speaks volumes to the cynicism, ego, and con of religious leaders.

Man who had jail sentence commuted by Trump arrested again

A New Jersey Ponzi scheme architect, whose 24-year prison sentence was commuted by then-President Donald Trump in 2021, has been arrested again Wednesday on charges he defrauded investors by making false promises involving humanitarian supplies destined for Ukraine.

Eliyahu Weinstein and four other men were charged with conspiring to defraud 150 individual investors of more than $35 million and with conspiracy to obstruct justice, according to federal prosecutors in New Jersey.

"This is now the third time this office has charged Weinstein with a large-scale scheme to rip off investors," U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said during a news conference in Newark on Wednesday.

In related news this officially qualifies the guy to be the front runner for a Republican congressional seat.

Sucks to be trump.

If you get paid for filing and representing Trump, it is probably a good day for you. That 40 million, has to be going to somebody.

I can just see the David Bromstad in the next My Lottery Dream home.
David, "So tell me, how did come into the money?"
Lawyer X, "Well David, I got paid by the biggest idiot."

Didn’t he have lawyers who quit because he was not paying them?
