The Trump Indictment Thread

Chickens are coming home to roost for all of these people, not sure what they expected would happen but the reality is setting in, probably for the Republican party as a whole, too.

It's bewildering how trump *still* has so many under his spell. You'd think most republican voters (or at least many) would recognize trump for what he really is, acknowledge an error in judgement supporting him, and move on.

So far, I'm not seeing that happening. And that's really concerning. Even the other r candidates (with the exception of Christy and Hutchinson - both with low numbers ) are terrified to directly call him out.

Also...

Even if trump were to be found guilty of every single one of the 91 felonies he's currently being charged with (there could be more in the future now that some of his cohorts may be cooperating), many r voters would likely chalk it up to New York, Georgia, and the DOJ "weaponizing" the criminal justice system. And STILL support him.

This is hilarious:
Fani Willis doesn‘t grant Mark Meadows an extension and is prepared to file warrants by Friday.
And Jeffrey Clark tried to set the judge a deadline.

Clark seems like an asshole’s kind of asshole. I’ll be watching his story with particular interest.

Yeah, he was secretly attorney general for like 15 minutes, and he’d sell his soul to get there again. (That’s how he got there the first time).

Also seems like a particularly extreme kind of dummy.

Maybe that’s why Meadows is finally willing to talk. He knows his goose is also cooked now.

It’s pathetic these people are trying to hide behind free speech. Hey dipshit, free speech happens at some point in every crime committed that involves multiple people. That doesn’t cancel out the actual crime. It's astounding how many of these people managed to get a law degree.

Some are saying Trump refusing to do the debates and doing an interview with Tucker instead is a sign that he knows he’s screwed and all these indictments are weighing on him. He doesn’t have the mojo anymore to speak outside a very controlled situation that isn’t packed with super fans. He’s not going to win anybody new over and more than likely will lose more people interacting with people outside his bubble.

Also the boost from the indictments (sick as that is) will start to wean as the general tedium of the legal process lacks the reflexive shock factor of the indictments being announced.

Yeah, I can see that.

Since the Georgia trial will be televised, I suspect there will be some gems that could be shock-worthy - especially if there are coconspirators testifying. And of course trump being convicted and hauled off to prison.

And Trump is now emphasizing that he truly believed the election was rigged, no doubt on advice of his lawyers, as if that would make any difference. It's like if someone colluded to have a bank robbed because they truly believed all the money inside belonged to them.

my question is what has he done to deal with election fraud? I mean we all know he is lying but what is he telling his idiot followers things he has done?

Things have to be pretty fucked up when going with a public defender is the smart option.

Well, the other option is have people who’s primary interest in keeping Trump out of prison representing you, and you AND the lawyer may end up needing ANOTHER lawyer before it’s over. Forget “Making Attorneys Get Attorneys” - MAGA now means “My Ass Got Arrested”, and it seems merely personally working Trump-proxy alone increases your chance of an indictment.

If I was the sole suspect I wouldn’t want a public defender, but when it comes to the Feds working on organized crime, that may be the best counsel you can get.

The talking heads this morning were wondering out loud if Meadows kind of half-cooperating with the Feds mean he left some free passes in the GA case on the table. If you are a target or suspect and start cooperating, you want to make sure you get a pass for anything and everything, not just what you think is imminent. It remains to be seen if Meadows is all-in as a witness or not, but it will be interesting to see.

I like how these clowns decided that if they couldn’t prove voter fraud in the courts within a few weeks they would just have to take the law into their own hands. But when it comes to the mountain of evidence against them – audio, video, text messages, emails, and countless public appearances they’re all “Well, there’s just so much to go over here. This should take at least several years before it should go to court.”

Tell you what. How about you just go to prison now and we’ll give you all the time you need to work on your case from there. Take your time. Really go over the details. Maybe even end up with time served by the time it goes to court on your insistence.

On MSNBC, they’re talking about how Kenneth Chesebro is actually requesting a speedy trial. Already, we’re seeing different defendants’ best interests conflicting with each other. Trump wants to delay, but in the meantime, that just gives everyone more time to cooperate.

Trump is balancing a lot of issues right now, but it’s all going to come crashing down hard. The lies, deceit, multiple defendants and lawyers, etc are going to be too much to juggle - especially since he’s actually guilty.

In fact, some of these delay tactics and multiple cases are hurting others. RICO Rudy’s filing where he essentially admitted to lying about Ruby Freeman to speed up that case may harm him in a criminal case. The tangled webs are catching up to these creeps.

Jenna who is begging on Christian gofundme sites seems a bit too happy. Imagine asking other christians to pay your legal bills while breaking the law. though I sure she said she s fully innocent. How much you wanna bet that smile will be gone soon enough.

She’s smiling, but she’s also publicly asking why, if the whole J6/Big lie thing was for a “greater good”, then why aren’t Trump’s coffers paying for their defense?

I don’t expect these people to get along with each other more as all of their interests clash and the bills keep piling up. Who knows, maybe more indictments too. Trump isn’t the only one I’d imagine is stupid enough to continue to break laws while trying to defend themselves.
