Today’s Shooting (an ongoing topic)

8 shot, 2 killed in Arkansas, at a place called The Mad Butcher grocery store, of all places. Shooter was also shot and is in custody, though we don’t know if the shooter was killed yet, just that they’re in custody and were wounded.

Don’t worry, Governor Huckabee Sanders has already sent her prayers to those affected. Despite being a known liar, we’ll have to assume she’s telling the truth, so good to see she’s wasting no time doing next to nothing, perhaps planning her next overpriced podium purchase from her friend who she plans to vacation with internationally shortly after the purchase.

Luckily no one dead (as far as I've heard) and this isn't a mass shooting, but it still somewhat fits here...

A state congressman from Michigan has been arrested for chasing an exotic dancer (who he apparently assaulted) while shooting his gun.
Even weirder is the fact that the official statement of his campaign is: "As many of us know, Rep Friske is always exercising his 2nd Amendment right". And then they refer to deep state conspiracy. WTF?

For whatever reason this gave me a vision of a gym in an open carry state where everybody on the treadmills is running with a gun in hand, one accidently discharges and hilarity ensues. Destined to be the most watched video on MAGAtards of TikTok.

This assclown: “While knocking on doors to help get Donald Trump elected when I made a wrong turn and ended up in some sort of adult entertainment establishment. I was accosted by a mixed black and Hispanic illegal immigrant who was on her way to an abortion clinic. I was asked for a ride before declining. I was then offered sex, but turned it down because I’m staunchly pro-life. I was so insulted that Jesus’ wrath took over and I was forced by the unwavering hand of god to do HIS will.”

John Q. MAGA: “You know, we’ve all been there, none of us are perfect. You have my vote.”

So many screwups. gun shop with a loaded weapon? idiot not checking if the gun is loaded. then pointed it at another person and trigger finger on the trigger.

What I don't get is how there aren't charges pending? Criminal negligence causing death seems about right.

These kinds of stories piss me off. Not really the story, but the behavior that led to the story. There is ZERO excuse to have loaded weapon in a gun store. It should never happen. EVER.

That's one. Two, every weapon should be checked every time it is picked up or changes hands, even if you just watched someone check it. Check it again.

Pure stupidity and it cost someone their life.

Forgot the name and I probably don't get them fully right, since I'm not a shooter, but I believe there is a certain set of gun rules that are similar to this:
1. Treat every firearm as if it were loaded, even if you think it isn't.
2. Do not point the gun at anything you don't want to be destroyed.
3. Do not put your finger on the trigger if you don't intend to shoot.
4. Don't shoot if you don't know what's behind your target.

If they cannot follow these simple rules, people shouldn't be allowed to handle a firearm - period.

exactly. Plus the gun shop should be held liable too for having ammo in a display piece.

I believe the rules are slightly more concise
  • every gun is loaded (i.e., never assume otherwise, even if you know)
  • never pick up a gun unless you intend to use it
  • only point a gun at what (or whom) you intend to destroy

There is nothing in there about what is behind your target, because that would be overly budensome: if you mean to shoot that there elk, you basically have no spare time to assess what is beyond it. But, in a setting that is full of people, the third rule covers that: if you point a gun in a general direction, anything in the range of your aim is something/somebody you want to destroy, or you should just put the damn thing away.

My father-in-law fails in every one of these categories. He had to be hospitalized due to age relating issues and my wife traveled up to deal with their house and to get the affairs in order. She found a loaded gun in the open in the center console of their unlocked car parked outside of the house. Inside she found them all over the place (he has dozens of them, many of which aren't even legal) along with bullets spread about.

It's egregious on every level, the entire time he was in the hospital he kept pleading with someone from the family to stay in the home just to guard his guns. I ask my wife to limit her time around him, he's really unstable, watches Fox News with the volume on full blast and rages against Biden all day long, even in the hospital the nurses were avoiding him.

We’re going to get a lot of lessons in just how good the gun folks are with their weapons. Kids accidentally killing their sibling, a parent of themselves. Or purposefully in some cases. Close-calls with toddlers finding loaded weapons. Jokes gone wrong… on and on. And many of these states want fewer rules… in some cases, no registration or anything. You should be able to go buy a gun like a basketball or gallon of milk.

I have a friend who is a gun nut. He likes guns, he likes shooting he likes the NRA - and he’s not a conservative. I wouldn’t call him a moderate either, I think he’s socially liberal up until wokeism and cancel culture kick in lol. But anything to do with guns, you may as well call him a conservative. He’s my idea of the stereotypical responsible gun owner.

But there’s a lot of people who I think really just dream of at least one day - even if only a few hours - where they can legally run rampant and shoot Mexicans, liberals and LGBTQ folks. January 6 was a chance for them to quench their civil war thirst, they were just unprepared, I think they were more hoping to cheer outside while Pence instigated a crisis, which did not happen, so they did the best they could with their haphazard army of wal-mart fatigue wearing soldiers.

Dirty cop murdered a woman who called 911 for having a pot of water they allowed her to take off the stove.

“Drop the pot!”

Are you serious? Shot her in the head - her face. Cold-blooded murder. Shot her dead then said “what could I do? I’m not taking a pot of water to the face”, when nothing indicated he was in danger of having that happen.
Black woman calls for help, gets murdered.

The cop has been charged. Thank god for the cameras.

Second video is full footage.

Some brilliant detective work there. If all we had was that video her cause of death would be a big unsolved mystery.

In fairness, this still makes the job of the prosecution easier if this goes to court. I wouldn't want to give any wiggle room to the defendant on anything.

The cop is a POS who should have never been on the job. Stereotypical protecting and shuffling around a crap, unqualified hothead who ended up tarnishing everyone who gave him a pass.

Makes me literally sick. There were lots of signs before this he shouldn’t have been working. Maybe unarmed bouncer in a rural bar would have been a better job for him, not as an enforcer of the law.

Hey! A few thousand bad apples aren’t representative of the hundreds of good cops!
