It will be interesting to see how much legal freedom Trump takes during his second term. The Trumpers will say “he’s a great president who will use the laws to put America first”, which is a vague slogan and nothing more.

Then, when he starts pushing his new Supreme Court-approved above the law powers into action, his supporters who said he’d use them responsibly will just pivot to defending whatever he does.

“Look, Newsom was a national security threat, we had to do something, so he’s at an undisclosed federal prison to be held awaiting trial for treason.”

Trumper: “Newsom deserves prison for harboring illegals!”

Democrats should be using these last few months to stack the SCOTUS by whatever means necessary, they're facing a pretty big loss and it would at least give the country a chance at a more unbiased court during the next four years. However, what we'll likely see is a weak party fizzle out because they never have the balls to do what is necessary.
