The Trump Indictment Thread

I didn't see this in any of the original stories I read about the delay in Trump's sentencing. But apparently in his order moving it, he included the line:

In a brief response, Merchan approved the proposed schedule and wrote that he'll render a decision on Trump's motion on Sept. 6. He set a new sentencing date of Sept. 18, "if such is still necessary."

Don't think this will go anywhere, but ...... it will get him some votes.

Schumer is forcing the vote on all kinds of things just to get Republicans on the record blocking it. Democrats are learning from the Republican long game tactic of making the President nearly inconsequential by having control of lower positions. That's also why Republicans are currently obsessed with making the President a king. The views on who really holds power have completely switched between the parties.

Cannon tossed out the classified docs case based on a ruling that has already failed many times. It's going to be appealed, its not over.

If trump is elected, she'll for sure be the next Supreme Court justice if there's a vacancy during his term.

Eh, let's just give Trump his crown now and get rid of the whole law and government system. The Great Uniter is hard at work making America great again, I guess that's a task that deserves being above the law.

Does Hunter Biden get his conviction thrown out on the same grounds?

Just wow, the level of protection Trump gets is simply mind blowing. Surely this will be appealed, wonder if they can get a new judge? God forbid it reaches the SCOTUS.

For us layfolk who thought it was legal and impartial to appoint a special counsel, can someone please educate us on why it's suddenly not?

She didn't rule it was illegal. She ruled that Smith was not properly appointed in that he was never confirmed by the Senate.

Which is BS, it’s been litigated, she ran for that nugget Clarence Thomas put in his bought and paid for decision, probably with the promise of another free RV or house, like a rabid dog.

It will be appealled. The courts will reprimand her. Again.

It is, this has already been litigated other times, including a failed argument by Hunter Biden’s lawyers. Clarence Thomas added a bunch of extra fluff to his argument on immunity, and Cannon latched onto that and used it as an argument to dismiss the case.

It would be like if Thomas added a line that said “and no president shall be tried for having classified docs in their bathroom”, and Cannon would go “ah, case dismissed”.

Trump is above the law, and so is Biden now it seems, unless the Supreme Court is only carving these things out for their favorite low-IQ reality star Russian asset, and will close the gaps if it’s someone else.
