trump expects to be arrested on Tuesday

What’s the significance of wearing the full uniform?

I imagine several things. First, they may be called on to maintain order, and being in uniform makes it clear that they have police authority so that people will pay attention to their orders. Second, we can keep an eye on them and they won’t be tempted to join their MAGA brethren. Third, reduces the odds that they will be sucked into future conspiracy theories (i.e. MAGA dingbats finding some video where a plainclothes detective was buying a donut at a bodega two blocks from where the MAGA crowd went nuts, therefore he was a secret operative sent to rile up the crowd).

I have asked this before, but haven't ever really gotten an answer, so I will try again. "What of Trump's policies hurt you? Did any of them help? Were you better off financially then or now?

As for Biden, I don't think he is calling the shots. Mock me all you want on this, but it's what I truly believe. At least with Trump, you knew if he said, it was what he was thinking and not because someone told him to say it.
As for your first point, when Trump left office the economy was in shambles partly due to his mishandling of the pandemic and partly his glaring ignorance. In November, 2020 the imbalance of trade was at a ten year high despite his tariffs (which he either ignorantly or intentionally said China was paying). In 2018, the Congressional Budget Office predicted his tax cuts would add nearly $1.9 trillion to the total deficit by 2028 and his four years in office contributed significantly to the current national debt. Trump is the only president in the last 80 years to net job losses during his presidency. In addition, he created an atmosphere of great division with his highly partisan attacks and his Big Lie about the election.

For your second point, Biden may show some typical old age characteristics, but did you see his State of the Union address? Do you think someone "not calling the shots" could have accomplished that? And you can actually read Trump's deranged, incoherent social media posts, lashing out like a five year old at anyone who doesn't show absolute loyalty to him and who dares to investigate him and consider him normal? Covfefe

That you would prefer someone who incited a violent attack against the Capitol to unlawfully retain power and enjoyed watching it on t.v. for over 3 hours, who stole top secret documents and obstructed attempts to retrieve them, who is a pathological liar and a morally decrepit person just to avoid someone who is progressive is astonishing.

Their constant attacks against his age are cheap shots, he, Trump, and many others in public office are elderly and people like to use it as a political football. I think it's fair to questions age in politics as a matter of policy but all the bashing against cognitive function due to age (either Trump and Biden) just shows what an ignorant asshole one is. Don't like no age limits? Introduce and enact legislation and get it changed.

C’mon. That’s all they’ve got. Remember his former boss? All they had on him was that he wore a tan suit one time, and his middle name sounded scary.

Rebutting nonsense from people who get their news from an outlet that’s going to have to fork over $3billion for just making shit up is a waste of time.

There are concerns about Biden and the Democrats, as there are with any politician and party at all times, but nothing outweighs the other side’s attempt to fast-track us into a dark ages theocracy.

What Trump has done doesn't really factor in it that much. I suspect it really doesn't for the Dems when it comes right down to it.

Same as a college recruiting a star player who has had issues. They recruit him anyway because he will help the team. I mean the guy who brought the gun to the person who shot the girl in Tuscaloosa is still playing for Alabama and might very well help them win a title. So what he did is ignored by the school. We all have things we are willing to overlook.

I think the transgender thing has gone off the rails. It started as people wanting to be able to live their lives as they pleased (which I am fine with) to thinking it is alright to mutilate the genitals of pre-teens (which I am not). The economy is a mess. Inflation is starting to really affect people in negative ways. Maybe if the administration had not hidden behind "it's transitory" and done somehting about it sooner, it could have been muted somewhat. But they were so afraid of admitting it existed for fear of giving the GOP a talking point that they didn't act.
To answer your questions: I'm better off financially now that I was at the end of the Trump administration. And I believe mishandling of the pandemic response left the United States in a worse position than it otherwise would have been in, while acknowledging that vaccine development was a highlight, for which I'm grateful.

Beyond that, though, it's not just about my personal situation. All the things Trump did, which others have listed here repeatedly, harmed the country in ways that will linger for many decades. I wasn't directly attacked on January 6, 2021, but it sure felt like I was. And I don't care if an administration puts through legislation that cuts my taxes if the person at the top is a malignant narcissist. Yes, we all have things we're willing to overlook, but some of us have higher standards than others.

And now this.

Bomb Threat Called In to New York Court Where Trump Hearing Held

A bomb threat was called in just as a judge in lower Manhattan was about to start a hearing over a $250 million lawsuit by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Donald Trump.

Tuesday’s 911 call was investigated, the courthouse at 60 Centre Street temporarily closed and searched, and the threat deemed unfounded, state court spokesman Lucian Chalfen said.

The building, featured in the opening footage of Law and Order, is where state civil cases are heard. James sued Trump, his company and three of his children in September for allegedly inflating the value of his real estate company’s assets.

This is nothing less than intimidation for both the DA and the grand jury.

And now you have Jim Jordan mucking around demanding a congressional investigation.

There's a lesson to be learned here, not just from the NY DA but anyone else looking into Trump and that's to keep everything as close to the vest as possible. The second word gets out Trump will hit you with both barrels.

On the plus side though we have to look at the long game, this will never move those in the middle to his side, it's these sort of scandals that turned them off to begin with. So in terms of the election it only benefits the Biden administration while strapping Republicans from gaining any ground as they are constantly forced to defend him.

Didn't this guy used to pretend to be some admirer of the constitution and a libertarian? What a joke that charade was, it totally vanished once their reality show host assumed the role as their cult leader. Rand Paul has managed to not be viewed as the kissass people like Graham and Cruz are, but he's certainly giving them a run for their money.

Meanwhile, while these people are worried about a legitimate investigation into a well-known grifter and con, its really not surprising, because they also have insurrectionists asking for pardons and George Santos within their caucus.

But fear not, I have a feeling the GOP members of congress will inadvertently help hasten Trump's political demise by defending him at every turn, almost like its an involuntary reaction at this point. Why they keep going all-in with Trump when he's a clear net loser is beyond me.

So far the sedition caucus investigations have uncovered jack squat. If they are looking for results, and I’m not saying they are, they should investigate the same accusations against themselves. They can have themselves locked up by lunch. Getting stuff done!

This protester sign is a crack up

Rand Paul is a disgusting fascist. How do people of his state put someone like that in office?

He doesn't even know what the charges would be if Trump is indicted yet he's labeling it an abuse of power. It's even more disgusting because he knows Trump incited an insurrection with his election lies and stole top secret documents. So if Jack Smith indicts Trump for one or both of those, would Paul say Smith should be put in jail? In other words, Trump should never face the consequences of his crimes.

And this is the party of law and order.

The one time I was hoping he was accidentally correct. I’m sure his team will flood the inbox of his cultists with requests for money, explaining that the only reason why they indicted on a Wednesday is because he said he would be arrested on Tuesday. Another conspiracy.

That being said, the ice bucket is ready and the champagne will be cold by the time Trump is fingerprinted.

Also had a little fun with Bing’s new AI image generator!

Can’t argue with your beliefs. You believe in an old white man who lives in the sky and runs our lives; you believe that there is an Illuminati telling Biden what to say and do. We disagree (on both of these beliefs of yours).

I do not. :)

Never really got the whole religion thing. Yeah I went to Sunday School and church growing up but never was a believer. Either you are or you aren't. I do understand why religion came about back when it did, but science has explained away quite a bit of it.

he will be arrested in two weeks

No, it's the Second Tuesday of next week. ;)

Actually starting to read some stories that it might not happen.

So, um, Trump didn't get arrested yesterday. Where I come from that announcement would be considered a lie. From the other side that is considered a truth? Am I getting how this works now?
Trump has the party by the balls, doing his bidding based on a fabricated statement.

Meanwhile, Democrats...
