Looks like a bug in twitter’s web app may be to blame for the “extreme scraping.”

I don't think that's all that's happening here, but it may have played a role. Re-requesting failed requests at a rate 20 requests/second... There's also the thing with Google Cloud Platform, which they are no longer paying and ended on June 30, which could only be a coincidence, but...
Still, no matter how Musk spins this with the ridiculous rate limitations, Twitter is undergoing a major service disruption. It has been unusable for most users, most of the day.

Yeah other people noted that the Google cloud contract ended. And it’s possible he isn’t paying AWS either and it’s possible that forcing everyone to log in has caused problems. And of course the bugs.

Basically everything.

To me, it looks like he has backed himself into a corner. If the platform is not completely dead by the end of the month, I think we will all be surprised. How nice it ould be if this forced him to sell off a controlling share in Tesla …
