USA Election 2024

It really was not about anger. It was about bullshit. Reason stood forth and cried out "Listen to me!", but the cry of reason was no match for the relentless typhoon of bullshit. It is not clear if there is a viable tool for fighting that, especially when every media source supports it.

I am despondent. I woke up in the middle of the night and the burn was stronger than ever. I take faint comfort in the fact that the country is going to basically collapse (in large part due to the environmental damage that we have been accelerating for decades) and the RW will not escape the blame for it. The national and global situation is going to get very ugly before the end of the decade, which will not work in favor of whosoever is in power.

But it will also not be good for most of the rest of us. I believe there will eventually be progress, out of the ashes, but few of us here will be around to see it.
You got a ❤️ for a post that is a realistic appraisel of our future. Now we may know why billionaires want survival bunkers, they want their kids to be ones of the few, of the future.

I enjoy this life, but more and more the thought of checking out does not bother me. There’s a good chance that I picked the “From Plenty To Ashes” scenario out of The Earth Simulator catalog, because I wanted mostly a good time, with a bang of an ending. 🤔

Hey, we agree on something, :)

Now, are we talking practically or eugenics?

I ask that because you know as well as I do that “poisoning the blood of the country” is interpreted differently by many within your party, so I get nervous if I hear those same folks talking about there being too many people on the planet. It may mean something different than I do.

Maybe Californexit would not be a bad idea after all
Trump’s America would deem California a threat, too valuable, and forcibly prevent that, conquer and install a regional Governor, or split it up between Arizona and Nevada.

Trump may deport migrants whom President Biden allowed to legally enter the U.S. The migrants participated in two Biden admin programs that created legal pathways to enter the U.S. The number eligible for deportation under Trump could be in the hundreds of thousands.

I do not believe Trump would have won without the endorsement of Hulk Hogan. I think I’ll do some reflection on the loss, but anytime I engage with a Trumper, that will be my answer as to why I think Trump won. And I will deadpan it and give all the credit to Hogan, and I will be dead-ass serious. How can you really prove it wasn’t?

He was in town yesterday at the local Piggly Wiggly. Still not really sure why.

Watch “The Wrestler” with Mickey Rourke, then pretend Rourke’s character was a little more famous and a lot more arrogant and racist.

Hogan is probably as arrogant and as big of a liar as Trump, but the only political power he ever held was in a locker room.

I believe this was the most decisive victory we have seen since Reagan, I don't even think Obama swept all the swing states did he?

Politico: Trump completes swing-state sweep with Arizona victory

It was decisive and enough for them to claim they have a mandate. But it wasn’t like he won 60/40 or something. He’s walking away with fewer votes than Biden got last time, and a few more electoral votes from picking up Nevada. It was essentially the Hillary race all over again. Not the campaign, but the end results.

I’m actually happy he won the popular vote this time.

Though I do wonder if democrats will ask to investigate all that cheating and fraud Trump claimed was happening in black cities - tweeting in all-caps “AUTHORITIES ARE ON THE WAY!”. All that noise ended suddenly when he started winning.

I’d like to ask Herdfan what he thinks about a presidential candidate live-posting BS like that, but I expect no answer. Which is an answer in itself - “don’t care, so long as he wins”. That is a sentiment shared by many, just wish he’d admit to it.

Fuck, I’m reading as little news as possible but I can discern nothing to be optimistic about. There’s no good news at all. This country is like a dumb redneck who shot himself in the balls cleaning his gun.

Go read the in-fighting tweets already starting among republicans. I’m already over the election, I am acutely aware of the downfalls that are possible. But I’m not don’t with my phony optimism charade just yet.

Let’s see what happens this week, Trump has already been weighing in and Musk has endorsed Rick Scott, so you can be sure that’s a Trump endorsement as well. He wants the most far-right guy who can get confirmed, and that’s Scott.

Even if the senate leader vote goes off well, it’s just the beginning. Going to be a long for years, and unless you needed reminding - Trump is now the oldest president-elect ever, and will be the oldest president to take office. That will be a factor.

Sore winners or emboldened domestic terrorists?

These people willingly tattoo this crap on their body, you won’t humiliate any liberal with a middle-school marker prank.

I’m gonna get MA tatted on one buttcheek and GA on the other. That way I can unleash MAGA on these unsuspecting folks, and they won’t know what it means until I’ve left the elevator. If I’ve had Taco Bell, you better take a MAGA explosion as a real and serious threat.
