I understand why they long for a conservative who isn't crazy and won't flush our democracy down the drain. But I cringe when I hear that a write-in candidate is considered a reasonable alternative. It almost never is.

To be fair, I don't think these people are MAGA cultists, who would never say they're considering voting for anyone but Trump. They're just wary, since they've been told voting for any Democrat is a ride straight to hell, socialism. But I suspect many will come around as they learn more.
