Republicans did the exact opposite and won. Harris did 99% of what I think she should have, and I wasn’t even one of the people begging her take the reigns from
Biden - I was fine going ahead and losing with Biden (or possibly winning. Easy to say there’s no chance he would have won, but we’ll never know.)

Sexism and racism are still alive and well.

I’m ok with seeing where things went wrong, but I’m baffled at why republicans can win when they are parading the same policies that never work, plus a bunch of immoral new ones.

I’m with Eric on this. I care, but I don’t. Give the people what they voted for. Democrats have won four of the last five popular votes, even more going back thirty years. Republicans lose and blame it on immigrants and illegal votes. We’ve done more soul searching in three weeks than the GOP has done in twenty years.

I haven't heard anything about it being rigged or stolen. Has someone claimed that, backed with some kind of evidence?

A good part of the reason we lost, imo, was revealed in the recent NPR audio interview of Latino voters in Yuma Arizona that I posted earlier today. trump made a convincing case bullshitting that he was going to magically lift the suffering working class economically. Apparently that was enough to win all seven swing states.

EDIT: It would be interesting to know what Harris' messaging was, with respect to the working class suffering economically in those states.

Exactly, we all know it has more to do with the economy than anything else. In 2 more years we'll see if they're happy with their choice and in 4 more years it will likely be a totally different political landscape anyway. I hate to even say this but I think the party will likely look long and hard at nominating a woman again, regardless of how qualified they are. IMO it's a change we need in this country but they're simply not ready for it.
 
This is what it might take. Republicans call her radical the same way Democrats did Trump. She doesn't take any shit and sticks it to them.

She has an IQ in the double-digits, which makes her a better choice for a lot of things compared to Trump or his clown car of verifiably stupid and low-IQ congress creeps.

I mean seriously, I truly don’t care what someone who supports Trump or MTG or Boebert think about her.

And while my instinct is to say “should we really go for a Hispanic woman after the white and black women failed?”, it only takes me two seconds to say “Yeah, we should.” Maybe we need to do what the right does - double and triple down. Maybe we really do need someone more of a feminist, more of a progressive, more of a trouble-maker.

Reason and logic do not work. The American people are dumb enough to think Trump and Musk are going to help them, they’re beyond hope. If I’m going to lose another election, let’s do go for broke.
 
Biden is going to pardon Hunter. I was against it. Now I’m not. Sorry, the norms are gone, trying to uphold them didn’t work. The entire Trump family was essentially pardoned by the justice system, so who tf cares?

I get it, it’s hypocritical and a lie. He’s got a long, long, long, long way to go to catch up with Trump, and even if he lived another 100 years, he wouldn’t live long enough to even reach 10% of the depths of the Trump broods lies.

Here’s the f’d up part - we’ve got another four years of the felon president, this time with a blank check from the Supreme Court for more grift, lies and criminality.

So while I’m still against it principle, with this treasonous and vindictive stupid asshat and his criminal family returning, it’s as much preemptive as it is a pardon.

My only regret is Biden won’t use more of his power to commit Supreme Court-sanctioned crimes that benefit dems.

He’s also a father who loves his son, something that Trump knows nothing about. The egomaniac once referred to Barron as “Melania’s son” 😂

Don’t worry, you’ll get your revenge when Trump pardons the J6 criminal insurrectionist rednecks.
 
Like I said, I’d be just as worried about what happens to Hunter if not pardoned. He does a month in prison and suddenly, under Trump’s DoJ, is hit with another charge and more jail time. Just like they called Cohen in for an interview and imprisoned him again because he had a book coming out. Trump and Barr absolutely used their power against their political opponents. And with the unqualified sleazy brown nosers Trump is nominating, they will do it again.

He said he would make Mexico pay for the wall, did he?
He said he would replace ACA in no time, did he?

I'm pretty sure Biden did not intend to pardon Hunter, because unlike some other guy he actually believes in the law.
But when Trump stacks all departments, including the DoJ, with his bootlickers, who want to grant Trump's wish to hurt his "enemies", then I can definitely understand why Biden would pardon Hunter.

Look, if the republicans had nominated Haley or something, I’d totally agree that I wouldn’t like this at all.
