Kind of old news in the whole two weeks he's been in office, but he stopped all foreign aid. Well, not all. Isreal and Egypt are still getting aid. He wants to "clean out Gaza" which basically means bringing out the bulldozers and turning it into a massive development project for Israel, the US, and Saudi Arabia or pretty much anybody except the Palestinians. He wants them to all be relocated to Egypt and Jordon. I guess the theory is once they are all relocated to their not Gaza utopia they'll just forget about the recent suffering and roughly 50k friends and family killed because Trump and MAGA are such a monument to forgiveness and moving forward without looking to the past.

As somewhat of a surprise to me, without me even bringing up the subject one of my Trump supporter friends shared he's pretty damn annoyed with Trump right now. He works for the county health department so he's directly connected. He doesn't like the blanket attacks on trans people and the fact that a lot of health data is currently being blocked or removed. He also said he was pretty pissed off when Trump's press secretary wouldn't confirm that they are only going after violent illegal immigrants and used the whole "just being here illegally is the crime" schtick. He didn't believe Trump would take things this far...and it's only week 2.

Should be said he's not MAGA. His support initially came from being upset about government waste which he sees on the job and he does find the woke stuff annoying. He's accepting of people. He just doesn't like it being put in his face constantly or what seems like an endless celebration of different groups just for the sake of it. From the patriot angle he felt there was too much negativity about America from other Americans. He wanted to see more pride in the country.

Ironically if you are going to live in the present I don't think there's too much to point to, to be proud about. In the so called mission to make America great again all it has really accomplishment is made the US a global source of ridicule where the average citizen should either be hated or worried about. Other western democracies now look at us and go "Well, at least we're not that shit hole." And this goes well beyond politics when our economics get compared.

Whats's going to save us is Trump and project 2025 are comically incompetent and elitist fucks. There's been a near daily "how can we jump the shark?" meeting and I have full confidence within his term we will have a financial catastrophe which is the reason they are leaning hard into culture wars right now which close to nobody will buy as an excuse when it happens.

I saw a TikTok with a woman that voted for Trump and how disappointed she is that he isn't keeping his campaign promises to keep prices down.

As much as I'd love to blame Trump - the avian flu wiping out the flocks of laying hens should be blamed on inaction by the USDA / CDC - as it happened during Biden's term. (and our own Health Canada / Ministry of Agriculture up here).

Our free range eggs were missing from our local grocery store for about 6 weeks - wrote the producer and they wrote me back explaining how they had been wiped out by the avian flu, but would be producing again soon....and thanking us for our loyalty). Conveniently enough, the chain's free range eggs were still available for about 50% more.

Exactly, which was also the case when Biden was in office. A president has zero to do with this but MAGA was constantly blaming Biden regardless, now they're all under a rock. Just pointing out their hypocrisy.
