As much as I'd love to blame Trump - the avian flu wiping out the flocks of laying hens should be blamed on inaction by the USDA / CDC - as it happened during Biden's term. (and our own Health Canada / Ministry of Agriculture up here).
Our free range eggs were missing from our local grocery store for about 6 weeks - wrote the producer and they wrote me back explaining how they had been wiped out by the avian flu, but would be producing again soon....and thanking us for our loyalty). Conveniently enough, the chain's free range eggs were still available for about 50% more.
