Regardless of who it is, if their biggest concern under Biden was the economy and they're defending Trump now then they're worthless hypocrites. He can't respond with any sort of credibility here and it's not just him, it's the entire MAGA base with their bullshit faux outrage.

There was a video getting a lot of coverage a few weeks ago with a woman in tears talking about how she left MAGA when she concluded that they are mostly a bunch of assholes and being assholes is their agenda.

Some of the coverage shared a followup video of her at a protest rally where she said the world needs to see these protests which insinuates they aren't getting coverage by design. I share that concern. There is the perception or reality that the average citizens aren't rising up and protesting enough.

As far as people supporting Trump's agenda, I think what they support is his bombastic actions with little to no care about the fallout or damage. It's the build the wall simpletons who think preventing people from walking over the boarder is going to solve 90% of the immigration and related economic problems, although they seem to have stopped their demands for a wall as long as they are fed ISIS style propaganda videos of people getting rounded up and deported. It's a very simplistic narrow minded worldview.

Here's how I think the mental gymnastics on the right will happen. People on the left are generally ok with higher taxes if they are somewhat confident that the services being funded are helping people out even if it isn't them directly. People on the right will be ok with inflation as long as at the same time they believe "others" are actively being made worse off. Before it wasn't just inflation, it was inflation combined with what they believed was a mountain of FREE STUFF for "others".

For those who voted for Trump based on fond memories of his first term he's bringing back the hits as the stock market hasn't crashed this hard since being hit by COVID. But the nostalgia won't end there as mass layoffs and plant closures are sure to follow, some already announced. Oh, the halcyon days of Trump 1.0!

On a separate but Trump 2-related note, why in the blue hell is Laura Loomer at the White House? Trump hopped off back to golf for an extended weekend.
