Trump 2: Electric Fuckyougaloo

Hopefully you weren't expecting a retort from Herdfan. I imagine he'll be quiet for some time, until there is a slight bounce back or some twisted nugget by the administration to proclaim good news.
Regardless of who it is, if their biggest concern under Biden was the economy and they're defending Trump now then they're worthless hypocrites. He can't respond with any sort of credibility here and it's not just him, it's the entire MAGA base with their bullshit faux outrage.

There was a video getting a lot of coverage a few weeks ago with a woman in tears talking about how she left MAGA when she concluded that they are mostly a bunch of assholes and being assholes is their agenda.

Some of the coverage shared a followup video of her at a protest rally where she said the world needs to see these protests which insinuates they aren't getting coverage by design. I share that concern. There is the perception or reality that the average citizens aren't rising up and protesting enough.

As far as people supporting Trump's agenda, I think what they support is his bombastic actions with little to no care about the fallout or damage. It's the build the wall simpletons who think preventing people from walking over the boarder is going to solve 90% of the immigration and related economic problems, although they seem to have stopped their demands for a wall as long as they are fed ISIS style propaganda videos of people getting rounded up and deported. It's a very simplistic narrow minded worldview.

Here's how I think the mental gymnastics on the right will happen. People on the left are generally ok with higher taxes if they are somewhat confident that the services being funded are helping people out even if it isn't them directly. People on the right will be ok with inflation as long as at the same time they believe "others" are actively being made worse off. Before it wasn't just inflation, it was inflation combined with what they believed was a mountain of FREE STUFF for "others".

My SO was at a protest recently on a rotary (traffic circle for the rest of this country) and she told me one of her fellow protesters was holding a sign "Honk for Democracy". A MAGat in a raised pickup truck came around screaming at them "FUCK DEMOCRACY! YOU FUCKING (r-word)s". Now with a thick Boston accent that ends up sounding more unintelligent that it reads, believe me. Not to mention the idiocy of FUCK DEMOCRACY. They all were left confused.

He's just saying what MAGA feels, they no longer have to feel shy about their hatred and bigotry.

For MAGA the definition of democracy is they lose. There's zero point in attempting to change their mind on that.

Amen.

For those who voted for Trump based on fond memories of his first term he's bringing back the hits as the stock market hasn't crashed this hard since being hit by COVID. But the nostalgia won't end there as mass layoffs and plant closures are sure to follow, some already announced. Oh, the halcyon days of Trump 1.0!

But he's going to mix things up with 2.0 as this time you won't be receiving those fancy checks or extended benefits to help pay bills and rent or any moratorium preventing you from getting kicked into the street. The return of being tired of so much winning!

Funny how this worked out.

This is key, they literally couldn't give a rats ass about anyone else besides themselves or issues that only impact them directly.

You already know how I feel about conservatives and inability to empathize. It’s a common, recurring theme with them.

On a separate but Trump 2-related note, why in the blue hell is Laura Loomer at the White House? Trump hopped off back to golf for an extended weekend. This is all a cosmic joke, someone please explain how any sane or rational person thinks of any of his bogus cabinet, dumb felon friends or lunatic crackpot racists is the behavior of a sitting president. Or a decent co-worker at the office or grocery store.

What is your cognitive dissonance with this immense oaf? Why do you hold him to a lower standard than you would expect from a stranger off the street? Most conservatives would be the first to rid themselves of someone like Trump in their everyday life.

Even Ben Shapiro points out Trump is an economic moron. Would now be a good time to remind people he bankrupted a casino? A casino. The house always wins. And that's just the most obvious example that he's a business idiot in at least a half dozen business failures.

Felon-ONE is a pseudo-wealthy guy. Ipso facto he does not understand money. He has a vague idea about billions of dollars, but when it comes to real, on the street, money, he is clueless. Add to that the fact that he is utterly incompetent when it comes to hiring and firing people who do comprehend these things. He is just not suitable for being in charge of anything, much as he might try to convince you he is.

Hold up. He can send Central and South American people to black sites which will deter other people from Central and South America from entering the country and therefor America is saved!

As I mentioned previously, we can not weigh in until 200 years from now on if his wisdom was correct, pending the price of eggs.

“You’re talking about a moment where you would not want to destabilize the national security agency, and this is exactly what the president has done, without any explanation to any of us, except to listen to Laura Loomer. And you know this is just more again, just pure chaos instead of common sense,” Gottheimer told CNN’s Kate Bolduan."

Remember trump's visit to Moscow at the invitation of the Soviet government back in 1987? Pay attention.

"NSA Director Tim Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble have been disloyal to President Trump. That is why they have been fired. As a Biden appointee, General Haugh had no place serving in the Trump admin given the fact that he was HAND PICKED by General Milley.” She went on, “Thank you President Trump for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you and thank you for firing these Biden holdovers.”

No... his loyalty lies with the United States and Constitution.

I've been away for awhile.

In my last post immediately after the election, I said "I worry about a nationwide abortion ban, which would presumably override state protections, replacement of experts in Federal departments with political lackeys, dismantling of the Department of Education and other departments, rolling back climate change mitigation, and especially seeing RFK, Jr. in charge of the FDA, CDC, and related agencies. If he's allowed to do what he wants on vaccination, expect a resurgence of measles, polio, and other preventable diseases, not to mention disappearance of Covid and other vaccine development in this country."

It's difficult for me to accept, but even my worst fears have been surpassed. Measles is resurgent, and I won't be surprised if the same happens with other preventable communicable diseases. Even worse, the dismantling of agencies like the CDC and NIH that support medical research and public health, along with Trump's appointment of incompetent, dangerous morons to lead them will adversely affect Americans for decades. I shudder at what will happen when the next pandemic hits. Even if that is years off, Covid is still around, and development of highly promising nasal vaccines that could prevent it from taking a foothold is slowing or stopping.

The same holds true across the governmental landscape. Trump's tariffs are already having devastating ramifications. Our standing in the world has been irreparably harmed – the world can no longer trust the U.S. Modest progress on measures to mitigate climate change are being reversed. Cuts to Medicaid will harm millions. The list goes on.

I don't blame Trump for this. He is who he is. But I do lay responsibility squarely at the feet of the Republican politicians who continue to enable him and the voters who put him in office. Sure, Democrats could have done a much better job connecting with a disaffected electorate, but it isn't as if stark warning signs weren't there. It's difficult for me to empathize with those who voted for him and suffer the consequences of their choices.

GOP candidates just won two House seats in Florida by reduced margins, but Republican voters will have to be so personally affected by the new status quo that they'll be able to overcome their irrational fear of supporting a Democrat in the midterms. And Democrats will need to better articulate why continuing on the current path will be increasingly harmful and what they'll offer in its place.
