Ron DeSantis: What in the ever loving fuck is wrong with him?

Hearing more and more that DeSantis really doesn’t want to be President. It’s more that his wife has a psychotic fixation on being First Lady.

I don't know, but there is a whole lot of people who are opposed to this bill. So there must be some who are in favor of it.
That is an intellectually dishonest take. You are making a huge presumption that people who are opposed to this bill are for having teachers talk to Kindergarteners about sex orientation. That is like saying those who are for a woman's right to choose are for abortion. The world isn't black and white as some on the right want it to be.

Is that how you saw it? To me he was just snappy and defensive with no actual rebuttal for the question. Even Trump at his most divisive was never that angry and snotty with reporters.

I get the impression that DeSadness is trying to find his ShitGibbon groove. Being obnoxious worked pretty well for that guy, maybe Ron can grab some of that for leverage.

Dwyane Wade, who has trans daughter, says he left Florida because his family 'would not be accepted' there

Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat's all-time leading scorer, no longer lives in Florida and it's partially because of the state's political climate.

The future Hall of Famer, who has a 15-year-old transgender daughter, made the revelation during an interview with Rachel Nichols on this week's episode of Showtime's "Headliners," a clip of which was released to People on Wednesday.

Then why ARE they opposed? Because that is the part everyone seems to be focusing on.

I refer you back to post #394. You claim to be libertarian. Do you advocate taking away people's rights for the sake of vapid, inciteful, politicultural raving?

No, but I don't want teachers being able to indoctrinate students either.

I know most people here will say it isn't happening.

Then I will post some videos of teachers doing it.

Then excuses will be made such "it's only one teacher" or some other lame excuse and then the subject will be dropped. Rinse, repeat.

Remember, there were no books in elementary school libraries depicting homosexual/pedophilia content. Until I posted one. Now no one wants to discuss the books because they were forced to admit they exist.

Just curious - what of someone who objects to teachers "indoctrinating" students with the theory of evolution, or with America's treatment of native peoples or with the idea that the Earth is billions of years old, etc? One person's discussion of well-established science or history is another person's indoctrination.

Those conversations did not go over well when I was growing up. Mom was more religious than dad, but both were more so than me. If you don't "believe", you don't believe. And there is nothing that can force you to. Let's just say Sunday School was trying for my parents and the calls from the teacher. :)

1. You cannot be indoctrinated, you are gay or you are not. It is not a learned "thing", the only thing that needs to be learned is empathy and kindness.

2. There are teachers teaching it where they should not, but there are teachers teaching other subjects when they shouldn't. There will always be the outliers and they are the minority. They should be handled on a case by case bases, but the don't say gay law is making it absolutely forbidden and that is where the objection is.

3. The book thing again is a red herring. You are the one who likes to cherry pick and find the one or two cases and then expound on your argument and say it is everywhere! There is probably limited amounts of all types of pornography in school libraries all across America, but you one to focus on the homosexual ones because I assume that is your true axe to grind.

I wish you would come out and claim your feelings about homosexuality and transgender, rather that going up to the line and hiding your true beliefs by claiming you are only fighting for the "girls" in sports.

It wasn't simply homosexuality, it was pedophilia.

My true feelings are that I don't give a flying F about what people do in their own homes or how they dress when they go out. I simply don't.

But there are those who have a vested interest in there being as many trans people as possible, and I get that things are easier when more than a half percent of people identify as trans, but that is not a reason to prey on confused teens.

Remember, no doctors were doing trans surgery on minors, until I posted some links. There were not books in school libraries until I posted a pic. Now that you know they are there, you are deflecting. First they were there, now it's not a big deal.

Perhaps not. But someone who is legitimately confused might not get a impartial answer.
They certainly won't get it from Conservatives, who will try to counsel them out of it through religion or some sort of draconian therapy.

When a child/teen reaches that age they're going to know which way they swing, if they have some confusion they should feel free to talk openly to their parents about it. If they know their parents are Conservative ideologists who look down on LGBTQ they're likely never going to even broach it, and shame on that parent for ruining that kid for something they have no control over.

The right answer here is to be open minded, stop playing moral police with an individual's sexuality. You have no business there other than offering them some understanding.

You do realize that not all Conservative's are religious. Other than weddings and funerals, I haven't been in a church in decades.

And what age is that? 4? 6? 8?

But you live according to all the bullshit rules and hypocrisy of the Bible while suppressing "actual" historically accurate facts in schools. How do you not see the irony there?

And what age is that? 4? 6? 8?
Please stop muddying the water with this ridiculousness. When the child becomes sexualized in their teen years they know who they are, some may know sooner but at that time you need to be understanding, not pushing them into something they are or are not, it's natural for each individual and I don't ever think you'll be open minded to that from the sounds of it.

My cousin's husband and I had a mutual friend growing up and I asked him how he was doing since he bowls with him, he said "He learned his daughter was a lesbian and he was floored, depressed and felt helpless, I couldn't imagine what he is going through over this" all sympathetic. He turned her away and I'm guessing throughout all the years she knew who she was she could never mention to her parents. Sad.
