The Democrat agenda 2022 and going forward

As a father, I'd trash my reputation every day of the week if it protected my kids from unwarranted persecution.

Whether it's "unwarranted" is in the eye of the beholder.

The gun charge, maybe.

But not paying $1.4M in taxes doesn’t seem unwarranted.

Regardless, that sin has been forgiven. You can like it or hate it or not worry so much about Hunter. It doesn't really matter now. We can rehash the facts of the case all day long, but he's still pardoned. I don't see the point in caring at this point. I don't care what any other ex-president's children are up to either.

Yes those, and those that are still missing.

Also I want to know where the $10 million from Egypt went, and I want to know how Kushner got 666 5th avenue bailed out of financial trouble. I want to know why there are missing visitor logs from the first Trump administration? Also why isn't there an accounting of what foreign nationals stayed at the Trump Hotel in DC?

I am at the point of not giving a shit anymore. A band of crassholes have been given the keys to the country and are likely to leave it to decent folk to sweep up the ashes left of their fêting. Somewhere down the road, ShitGibbon will be recorded as the Caligula of the modern age, except as much more reckless and stupid. We might be able to restrain the headlong plunge into third-world-shitholery, but I am not optimistic about that – not even sure how much I care.

Are you holding Trump to that standard?

When things start going sideways and there are protests and outrage I think it’s important to remember that less than a quarter of the US population voted for Trump. I say that because I feel like there’s going to be a reflexive “you voted for this” from our side assuming it’s a bunch of Trump voters who weren’t paying attention and are now shocked at the results of their vote. There’s a good chance there are a lot of people in that crowd who didn’t vote for Trump.

That why my response will be "That's why I voted for Kamala". That doesn't assume how they voted or if they voted. If they voted for him, they'll get the point. If they didn't vote at all, they'll get the point. If they voted for her and they are still shocked at the results, I'll likely back away slowly out of confusion and fear.

This is why Trump won, let's hope the midterms changes things. Tired of all these geezers barely hanging on by a thread not moving aside.

Nancy Pelosi just got Democrats to pick a 74-year old with esophagus cancer for the Oversight panel over AOC. Get these fossils out of the Democratic party now.

I don't understand this now. It was okay 6 years ago when she was a freshman representative with little experience a lot of ambition. Now... she has definitely matured especially in the crash course while serving in the first Trump term. Seems like we could use her voice more during this upcoming shit show part deux.

There's also these 2 assholes not missing a last minute opportunity. This will effectively hand majority control of the labor relations board to Trump and Elon "fuck labor!" Musk. Come to think of it, that may be a win for the Democrats as Musk wrestles defeat from the jaws of victory on the labor and working class vote.

Well, the r’s got the oldest fat felon back in office, so I guess we’re still ahead, but not by much. Pelosi could be an effective liaison outside of congress, this should really have been her last term. She turned over control to a younger and capable leader, and this would have been a good way to go out. Dems also gained a seat in the house and this is the second-smallest majority in history I think. It’s really time for a “thanks for your service, pick who you’d like to run to replace you and support them in your last term.”

TBH I'm sick of Pelosi, she's the old guard and Democrats who are sticking with her are just slowing down inevitable change. People can say what they want about AOC but she is the face of change right now and has the will of the younger generation behind her. In a lot of ways both parties are similar in that they simply won't step aside and let the new generation get a foothold, it will have to be taken by a populist movement.

You live in her district or at least close to it. so what do you hear as to why people keep voting for her? Or is no one of consequence willing to run against her in the primary?

When Robert C. Byrd was in the Senate, the reason people kept voting for him was he kept bring in money to the state. So he kept getting elected.

I don’t think it was until comparatively recently that voters started seeing her as a problem and even more recently associated with national loss. A lot felt she did a good job as leader combatting Trump which was a lot to ask for.

Right, I think Democrats are gonna have to do much more than just be anti-Trump going forward. Currently there is a wave against liberal policies in San Francisco, it will be interesting to see if Pelosi survives the midterms.
